Meineke Store # 1204 999 DULUTH HIGHWAY LAWRENCEVILLE, GA 30043 To Whom It May Concern: This is an attempt to collect monies owed by Meineke Store # 1204 to me for faulty parts and service. My original service date was November 11, 2005. Upon arriving at your store, I informed Herman, the storeowner, that my brakes were squeaking and that I needed to have them checked. I was quoted as needing new brakes and rotors for the front two tires. I paid you without hesitation.

Within 15 minutes of driving away from your store, I was forced to run a red light and off the road because my brakes would not stop. My brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I then called the center and informed them of what happened and was told to bring it back in.

Once it was back, I was then informed that the brake line needed to be bled. Well needless to say, my brakes did not stop squeaking. I called a week later and spoke with the manager James and explained to him that my brakes were still making a squeaking sound. I was told that because the brakes are new that they needed time to break in and the squeaking would stop. It never did.

In December 2005, I was driving down Old Norcross Road and once again, my brakes failed to stop. I immediately called Meineke and spoke with James and he told me to bring the car back. I did and once again they bled my brake line. I then explained that my brakes were still making noise and he told me that it would stop.

On January 16, 2006, tired of the grinding and squeaking, I once again travel back up to Meineke and the owner Herman was there along with Eugene. After waiting for a while, Eugene proceeds to tell me that my car needs new calipers and that the cost would be $332.48.

At this point, I completely lose it. I start yelling and called the Meineke Customer Service center. I explain my situation and the CSR informs me that he would contact the center and see what can be done, but he can't promise me anything because each store is individual owned and operated.

The owner, Herman, stated that they would fix my car and not charge me labor. It cost me $70 that day. I declined the other services, because at this point I had no faith in Meineke at all to properly fix my car.

October 5, 2006, once again I take my car back to Meineke because my brakes are STILL squeaking and grinding, and the manager James tells me that my rotors are warped and that it will cost me $132.45 to stop the grinding and squeaking sound. Yet another LIE, I paid for the service and drove off with brakes still squeaking and grinding.

I then take my car to Kauffman Tires and was informed that the brakes on my car are not the proper one for my car. I called James at Meineke and informed him of what I was just told, and his comment was to come by and he would show me how they look up the parts for cars and that the brakes they used are the correct ones.

Well at this point, I call the customer service department again and still no resolution. What happen to the guarantee of customer satisfaction? I have been an unhappy customer since driving my car to Meineke in Nov. 2005.

Well needless to say, from November 2005 to December 2006, my car has been to Meineke 8 or more times for the same problem and out of all those times, my car has never stopped squeaking and grinding. On December 6, 2006, I took my car to Kauffman Tires again and explain that I need to have them check my brakes and tell me what is wrong.

I was then informed that the car center that had been working on my rotors had turned them so much that there was nothing left to turn and that my brakes were not good or were they the right ones for my car. The mechanic wrote down the Napa part number of the brakes that should be used on my car and gave me a quote for the service.

I then called Meineke and Herman answered and I reminded him of who I was and explained the situation to him and he told me to bring my car back and they would start from scratch and fix the problem. Well I drove 30 minutes to drop my car off only to get a call from Eugene that my new QUOTE to repair my car was $267. Well at this point I really get mad and I hang up on him. I once again call the customer service center and file yet another complaint.

This time, the owner is not willing to return my call, and I inform the CSR that if this situation was not resolved by the end of day on the 6th that I would seek legal actions. Well it has been 2 days and no one has called me or EVER tried to correct this problem without charging me more money.

Kauffman Tires has repaired my car and guess what, I didn't need calipers and my brakes are not squeaking anymore. There is no grinding or squeaking after 1 try. There is no breaking in squeaking period, no break pedal going to the floor, no need to turn rotors, no problems what so ever. All the things that I was told at Meineke are fixed without spending all the money that I was quoted.

This letter is my final attempt before filing a claim against you for the refund of my money. Attached are copies of all the monies that I have paid, with calculated interest. Since you are the reason that I had to pay another company to fix what you were paid to do, then it is only fair that you reimburse me my money for the service that you failed to complete.
