There is constant overpricing on everything! Pricing is now quoted 3 times cost so if a part is $100 cost its sold for $300 and that is on a good day.

I have witnessed parts or repairs being sold that were not needed just to make more money.

They sell conventional oil for $7.99 for that extra quart and if you want bottle oil even penzoil that is $9.99 and synthetic is $12.99  and There has been some really irritated people when an average oil change cost you $50+

Labor rate is average for the town so padding the hours of repair is constant and encouraged anything to make as much money as possible without care to the customer, what they don't know won't hurt them.

Honesty is not part of any part of this business its all about the money.

There is a lot of people that know this business and the owner and word of mouth is always the same dishonest and price gouging is the norm.

Angry Employee that Stole!

AUTHOR: Come on MIKE!! - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 08, 2013

Very sad that we went above and beyond for this employee.  We even have records and photos of him stealing from us.  We had major issues with him and this just proves what kind of person he is.  So please Mike Miller, you think word of mouth is powerful?  You are Correct 100% but, just remember it goes both ways.  We are honest 100% and would never "ripoff" customers.  We do live in a small town and understand that honesty and customer service go a long way.  Do we make money??  Yes, but do you work for free?  Just keep in mind all the dishonest things you did to us.  You had no problem ripping us off did you?

There is so much more to this story then I could possibly put into words, I just try to tell other unwitting customers how he works!

Trust me when I say there is a lot of people that will never go back because they experianced first hand his greed, there has been other complaints but he figures there is unlimited amount of people so repeat customers are not his top prioty "get all you can first" Most of his employees try there best to be honest but are cut off before they can talk to the customer about what is really wrong and what to repair "sale tactic"

I hope some day all will come out and be revealed what kind of man he really is.

There is nothing wrong with "Honest" profit.. but dishonesty is rewarded more it seems anymore?

List Price vs MSRP

AUTHOR: SUCKA! - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, November 10, 2012

List price is of course known in the auto repair industry.  However, list price is defined by the vendor, based on the store's cost.  This is something that needs to be watched carefully.  A vendor might sell a Timken wheel seal to the store for 8.99 and suggest a list price of 8.99 x 2, yet the customer wouldn't pay $17.98 for that same seal if they walked into that store and bought it themselves.  Chances are, the customer wouldn't even pay that much for a wheel seal if they walked into the dealership and bought it themselves.  If the MSRP value of the seal is $14.99, then the customer should be charged $14.99.  Auto repair is not a charity...nor should it be a ripoff.

Something else to think about:  You walk into Walmart and buy a 1-gal jug of milk for $2.  You walk into a convenience store and buy the same jug of milk for $4.  The milk and container are the exact same, yet the price is double...why?  Because you are paying for the convenience.  It is far more convenient for someone to walk into a gas station to buy that gallon of milk than it is to treck all the way to the backside of walmart to the dairy dept for milk.

Its the same with the auto repair industry.  The customer is paying extra for convenience and warranty at the expense of the repair facility.  However, the price charged from the customer should never exceed MSRP value. The owner of a facility put forward tens of thousands of dollars to start a facility.  They should expect to make their money back, plus a profit for the money they put forth for others.  Anyone who disagrees needs to learn how to do their own oil changes, purchase all equipment and tools and knowledge necessary to repair/maintain a vehicle.

My take

AUTHOR: HonestJoe - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, November 08, 2012

first I agree with must needed replacements like gaskest and seals, o-rings that get destroyed in the process of a repair but I mean parts that can be re used if they are not damaged for a needed service.

Oil was priced according to there level of service, coneventional house oil "mobil" $7.99 any other bottle oil "penzoil" $9.99  synthetic "mobil1" $12.99

it was cost verses list were I came from if a parts cost is $4.99 and list was $9.99 that is what should be,  not $14.97 cost X 3 <-- this is all random numbers not actual pricing..

I am not a disgruntled employee just a person with internal knowledge of the day to day operations and some of the dishonest transactions that have taken place some in front of me and some second hand.

MSRP Value

AUTHOR: SUCKA! - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, November 08, 2012

$7.99 for a quart of conventional oil is incredibly high, unless it's for Kendall or Mobil 1 or something equivelant.  Does the cost of parts being sold to customers exceed the MSRP value?  Have you looked that up on every part before posting your obviously disgruntled-former-employee complaint?  What's your idea of a perfectly good part being replaced for no reason?  If you remove a plenum gasket to get to a head gasket, would you not replace it?
