I became a member of Melaleuca in March of 2006 of which I signed a contract to purchase products from them every month that total 35 points or more plus shipping and if I do not request on order in a month I will automatically be send a shipment of vitamins for $83.54 (which was part of my year contract). The vitamins consist of 8 pills for the morning and 6 pills at night. I thought how does One-A-Day and Centrum get away with just one pill?.

Anyway, I missed a month ordering and got the pills...I could not give them away. I found myself ordering 12 tubes of chap stick and 12 bars of soap at a time to complete an order. I even ordered products to give as Christmas gifts to make up my orders.

In April of 2007, I decided to cancel my membership. I was told to write a letter canceling my membership and explain briefly why I wanted to cancel and I did. Well, three weeks later, I got a box of vitamins and saw that my banking account had a debit of $83.54. I thought okay, maybe it's my fault, they did not get the letter in time.

The following week, I had surgery on my arm. When I returned to work, I sent an email to Melaleuca, again requesting cancellation and requested confirmation of my email. The email was marked receipt requested. They never emailed me back to confirm receipt.

Friday, two weeks ago, I was leaving the office to run some errands and looked at my bank account, there was another charge for $83.54 from Melaleuca. This made me very angry. I called them and spoke with Jennifer who said they would send my money back once they received the vitamins and that she would cancel my membership since she saw the email. That was fine but I spoke with a co-worker who said, it's not your fault, Melaleuca should pay for the shipping since you had to pay for the original shipping.

I called back the same day and spoke with Allison (who was very confused, she could not get her story straight)!! First she said they did accept emails for cancellation and I told her I had spoken with Jennifer and that they did. She kept lying throughout the entire conversion. She then said (after speaking to a supervisor) that she would send me the necessary label to return the vitamins and that it would take 3-5 days to email me the label.

Well, it's been two weeks. I will Federal Express the vitamins back on Tuesday (tomorrow) so that I will have proof they have received them...let's see if I get my money back. If I get my money, I will definitely let you know. I would advise anyone not to get involved with Melaleuca - The Wellness Company because this entire ordeal does not have me well...and I have over $166 for vitamins I could not give away!!!

Melaleuca as good as it gets

AUTHOR: Mike. R. - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, November 29, 2008

Gwendolyn,

Melaleuca does not have a one year contract.

You have a choice to be a Preferred customer and reap all the extra PC customer benefits of ordering what you need monthly,

OR be a Direct customer and order only what you want, when you want it.

No one is locked in....

Melaleuca vitamins are patented because of the absorption delivery called "Fructose Compounding" tm. ( 90 % plus absorption ).

Melaleuca provides a 90 day feel better guarantee with their "Vitality Pack".

Research shows that One-a-day and Centrum absorb somewhere less than 5 %...Your choice I guess.

Ordering such trivial products as you did when Melaleuca produces appx. 400 products in several product divisions does not make sense to me. I personally satisfy all my personal, cleaning, health, pharmacy and my better halfs cosmetics with Melaleuca's product line.

We use over 100 points in products each month, not because we have to, but because we want them and need them. We spend no more than we would at another store if we didn't buy Melaleuca.

I'm sorry but I don't understand how you couldn't satisfy a 35 point requirement.

I am a very satisfied Melaleuca customer of 8 years. Myself, my family and about 75 others who I have personally introduced to Melaleuca simply love the products as well as the customer experience.

Along with some MILLION plus other Melaleuca customers, we would never switch back to any other store. The company and their employees bend over backwards on any service related issues. Talk about customer service.

Is Melaleuca perfect, NO, but is any company. Personally I believe that Melaleuca is a good as it gets. My children and grandchildren have used Melaleuca products for years and I am so glad they do.

They're safe, cost effective, environmentally friendly and I feel they work better that almost anything else out there. The health benefits that I have personally experienced using Melaleuca products has been great.

I am sure that no one has lied to you, it is most likely a misunderstanding. I believe that if you had read your entire agreement in the first place that it could have saved you so much heart ache. All the answers are there in black and white.

A very satisfied long term Melaleuca customer. Mike R.

2 Shills Have Replied

AUTHOR: Jim Webb Bail Bonds - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 18, 2008

As usual, the Company Shills have replied with outright LIES. First, this should put the whole reply into perspective. This clown claims that other vitamins are inferior to the Melaleuca vitimans because people find whole vitamins in septic systems. First, who the hell would ever dig into a septic system? Come on! And second, who would strian through all the sewage in a septic to find whole vitamins? And let's just say for the sake of arguement, If you DID find someone stupid or sick enough to strain through a septic over and over again looking for whole vitimans to prove this point. OK, now where is the data that Melaleuca victims, I mean vitamin users, septic systems are free of whole vitimans?

The original complaint was about the sales tatics and false statements from Melaleuca's agents. Of course neither SHILL bothered to address her concerns.

Melaleuca is a scam and should be avoided at ALL COSTS. No company can be legitimate when their business plan is to get you to get your friends and family to sell the crap too.

I Couldn't Have Said it Better

AUTHOR: Katherine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 10, 2007

Everything Loreita in the first rebuttal said is absloutely true. Melaleuca products are excellent and the vitamins outstanding!

Apparently you were misinformed regarding the papers you signed. Melaleuca has an agreement that you sign not a contract. You are not locked into any contract for a specified period of time as you stated. You could have cancelled the next day if you desired.

Melaleuca has over 350 products. There is absolutely no reason why you should have been ordering 12 sun shades lip balm (not chap stick), and 12 bars of soap at a time. Did you take time to look in the catalogue or go online and search the many products which are available?

You did not get into Melaleuca by yourself, did it ever occur to you to contact your enroller?

Melaleuca is not like this!!

AUTHOR: Loreita - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 10, 2007

You have got to be kidding me. Have you tried any of their vitamins. I have never had so much energy. The reason that there are so many vitamins is because the have to be in different forms. Take for instance the Phytomega. It is omega-3 fatty acids. It is made of the purest fish oils you can get. Only cold water non predatory fish. It is oil, You can not mix that with the florify which is in a capsule and it is powder. This is equal to 10 cups of yogurt. The reason there are so many pills is to help different issues. The reason centrum gets away with one is because people don't know that they are only absorbing 10 to 15% of the vitamins at the most. This has been proven by many doctors not on Melaleucas payroll. In fact it has been reported that in septic tanks they find a large amount of vitamins whole. Melaleucas vitamins absorb 90-95%. I would say that is well worth the cost if it helps your health. You obviously selected the higher cost back up order when you joined. There is one that includes the more expensive vitamins. This was something you initialed when you started. You can not blame a company for that. This can be changed to a different back up order as well that does not include vitamins. I have had one customer for one reason or another cancel on the very next day. The one in particular sent in a fax the very next day because he had finacial issues come up, not due to Melaleuca, and needed to cancel. His fax was recieved and his account cancelled that same day. As for shipping costs paid for that is also something you agreed to when you joined. If it were sent out by mistake then you could get your money back, but this was a back up order that was part of your customer account sign-up when you began. The other option you have is to reject the delivery from UPS. Then when Melaleuca receives it back they credit your account. The other issue you had was the customer service girl lying to you. It is not that she lied to you, she was probably new. In fact as far as I know you can not cancel by email because they need a signature stating you want to cancel. If they did not do it that way then anybody could cancel you membership. Say the person who started your membership up didn't like you should could write an email and cancel without your knowledge. That would totally uncool, especially if you liked the stuff. I personally love it. My daughter has ADD and we were able to take her off her meds last summer. She did awesome in school. My husband went off his depression meds. Okay so I have let the steam go. Why not try the vitamins since you think you are stuck with them. Or send them all back together with a request to cancel membership. You will recieve most if not all of your money back. When you do receive your money back you need to write a reply to this and tell people they held up to their end of the bargin.
