Melody's Toy Dogs ripoff scammer liar fraud Talihina Oklahoma

I too have had an Awful experience with Melody, Ron and Brandy Gravitt.. At least I think that's their names?

In November I decide that I wanted a Yorkie, so I went on puppyfind.com to search. I came across a yorkie that was priced at $750.00, so I contacted at the time Brandy Gravitt.

Just as all others have said, she responded very quickly to all emails, and even allowed me to pay her in installments. Everything initially went very smooth. I sent her the last payment on 12/16, and we agreed that she would ship the puppy on 12/27.

On December 27th, I drove to the Atlanta airport, went to the continental airlines counter, and wad advised that no puppy was boarded on the flight, in fact the reservation had been cancelled, but not one word from Brandy.. that's when I found out about Melody. I felt like a total idiot at the counter, and immediately felt that I had been scammed.

I rush home to check my email, and she had emailed me late the night before, claiming that the puppy was sick, and that she would take her to the vet.. why wouldn't she call me with important info like that? The next day she claimed to have taken her to the vet and was told that she needed antibiotics for 7-10 days.

To make a really long story short, The shipping date was changed three times. I was given every excuse possible, things like there were no available flights, but little did she know, I used to work for a major airline, so it took very little effort on my part to confirm that was a lie. I also heard the lie about her being in a car accident, death in the family, as well as the broken transmission.. what a liar!!!

After all of that drama, I then requested that she refund my money back (925.00). She agreed to mail it. A few days later I received the check for the total amount. I then rushed to deposit the check, only to have an entire month pass, and I was notified by my credit union that the check was bad.. It totally screwed my account up. For some odd reason, my credit union didn't place any type of hold on the check.

Of course I contacted her, and then the excuses started again, she had the nerve to say that people had been writing her bad checks, that caused mine to bounce...yeah right!!! I then requested a cashiers check or money order. She sent another check, this time from another bank claiming that her husband mailed it, and she didn't know anything about it, now keep in mind she told me that she had gone the day before, and purchased the money order herself?

Once I received that check, I was told by my credit union to call her bank to verify that the funds were available, I called and confirmed that if the check was deposited, it too would bounce. At this point I was livid!!!

I then contacted the local sheriffs office in my county, and also her county and was advised that I would have to sue her in small claims court. I threatned to fly to OK, and advised her that if it came to that, I would request a judgement for everything including air fare. She then sent me a cashiers check for the entire amount.

She still owes me $231.00 because of fees that I was assessed because of the bad check, but I know that I will probably never see it. I realize now after reading the other reports that I was fortunate, to have at least gotten back what I paid her.

She is an awful person... She claims to be this sweet, compassionate person that loves animals, when really she is nothing more than a lying scammer. I have since then purchased a beautiful, pure breed Yorkie, from a reputable breeder, and the transaction was seamless.

This awful experience has taught me to never make another purchase that way. It's people like her that make it bad for those that are honest, and trying to do the right thing. I hope that she gets what's coming to her, and my heart goes out to all of you that she has scammed, and may never see your money again... I know what it feels life.
