Merchant Lynx Services Tried to Scam Canton Georgia

Well I just wanted to thank you all on here for your reports, last year in October of 08, a lady came into our office by the name of Rusty, sold us some credit card processing equipment and totally ripped us off. The company leased the equipment through Northern Leasing who we called and explained to them that we never signed a contract for 48 mths to rent equipment that is only worth $185.00, also explained that we never got a copy of the contract, and they refused to fax or mail us a copy and we were told the contract was non-cancellable, let alone we were never told there was a separate processing company who immediately started debiting our account. We didn't even use the equipment and told them we wanted to send it back since it had only been 2 days since we got the equipment, we were told to get out of the contract we would need to pay them $7000.00, and that if we sent the equipment back they were going to trash our credit, oh and of course we could never get the infamous Rusty back on the phone. Well, it took a lot of time writing letter to BBB, Attorney General, FTC and finally we were released from the contract not only with Northern but also with the processing company. Total we were scammed out of about $1000.00. Come to this year, another lady comes to the office and tries to sell us the same song and dance, but this time I took her card and looked up the company "MERCHANT LYNX SERVICES", I read all the reports, checked the BBB and all of the other complaints that come up in google, there are thousands of complaints against this company and lo and behold they also lease through Northern Leasing. Hence, we told her we weren't interested and she got pissed. She then went on a rant and told us that the person who started Rip Off Report is wanted in several states for fraud and embezzlement, the people that report on rip off report are idiots and that the 111 complaints on the BBB (in 12 months) were fraudulent and that we were stupid for not using their services and walked out of the office and actually slammed the door very hard almost cracking the glass, very unprofessional to say the least. But hey, our credit is intact, our money is still in our pocket, and I don't have to worry about our personal information being mishandled. I am not going to be conned into anymore non-cancellable leases or fake credit card processing companies leases, we will just go through our bank, who we have been with for over 16 years. I hope this report helps someone else, please be wary of fast talking sales people that promise you the world and want your drivers license info, social security number and have contracts that you need to sign right then and there, if they can't take the time to wait until you check them out, that is a sign to not do business with them.
