I called Wood Forest National Bank in Texas which is the bank for Merchant Services USA to cancel what was supposed to be a one year contract, they said let me pull up your account, and then they said OK, fax a signed letterhead saying I wanted to cancel my service and they would cancel, no problem, but be aware that next month's charges will be billed.

One week later, on 11/16, I called Merchat Services USA to make sure that the contract was cancelled. They said let me pull up your account, and came back and said "Yes maam, your account has been cancelled, thank you, have a nice day." On 11/17, I went online to check my bank account and they had taken out $2,623.83. I called Wood Forest National Bank on the 18th and asked what withdrawal was for and they said it was an early termination fee charged by Merchant Services USA. I called Merchant Services and they said it was a fee charged by Wood Forest. I called Wood Forest back, they said they could not discuss it with me and transferred me back to Merchant Services USA sales, where the sales person said if I came back to them, they would refund my money within 90 days, but that I would be committed to a 3 year contract from that day. I never received any paperwork from Merchant Services other than what the salesman, Adam Flanagan, had me sign. We had a verbal agreement that this was a only a one year contract. I never received any additional paperwork from Merchant Services, but the salesperson I spoke with said that it had been mailed and that she could email me a copy. The whole year that we used them, we received duplicate charges from Merchant Services and Wood Forest Bank and we were charged for keying in cards at 4 percent of total charges and we have never keyed in a card number. Sound like Merchant Services USA and Wood Forest Natiional Bank are in bed together and in the business of scamming small business owners. We will be sueing them to get our money back, and strongly suggest staying away from these CROOKS!

The exact same thing just happened to us

AUTHOR: holly - (United States of America)

The exact same thing just happened to us. We called Merchant services to inquire why our fee's had doubled since we started. At the begining we asked Alan Flanagan (the sales guy) to email us the exact monthly fee's and confirm that we had a one year policy. I have this email.

We decided to terminate our account because of the new fees. They asked us to fax why on our letterhead. Then we were charged 775 dollars early termination fee. It had only been 11 1/2 months!

The contract is very sneeky.

Can we all get together and sue them so other people don't get screwed like us?
