MERCHANTS EXPRESS MONEY ORDER COMPANY Dr. Jones Scamming blagard who prays on people selling cameras and electronics, Internet
I had put my old Cannon PowerShot on Craigs List in the hopes of raising a little tuition money while in collage. Right away warning bells went off when "Dr. Jones" asked about my camera and my rock bottom price. He never did ask to see it, and that is the reason that I had no picture on my posting. With scammers, they never ask questions about the merchandise only the price. We had gone through this before with my Grandfather's motorcycle earlier in the year.
So then I asked that he call me so that we can speak rather than text. No such phone call came obviously just more text messages. I knew this was a scam just by the way he phrased certain things because they were the exact same words of the previous scam.
He went on to tell me the camera was a surprise gift for his son in South Africa doing research with HOSA. He offered to pay me over my asking price for "Insurance cost" and asked for a PayPal account. I told him that he could send the money with a Money Order. Then the Merchant Money Order "Confirmation" came to my e-mail. The address he wanted me to send the camera was as follows:
Name: Obinna Jones
Address: Post Office Quarters Agbani
State: Enugu State
Postal Code: 40001
He never did tell me his name when asked or email other than Dr. Jones. All links and "phone" numbers lead to Yahoo. I will be sending them a report as well. His number that came accross my phone was 1(347)687-3094. If anybody else sees this blagard tell him hi for me and I hope he gets whats coming to him.
