This company quoted us one price and then tried to charge us another. They did the same thing to a co worker of mine, I later found out. They also ruined her carpet.

When my wife called to speak with the manager to register our complaint he became abusive with her. When I called to tell him to leave my wife alone, he called her a liar and became verbally abusive and physically threatening to me. The owner is some moron who gets his kicks trying to intimidate people.

The above scenario occurred about 8 months ago. Today I came home and found a flyer from his company sticking out of my front door. When I called to give them my name and address to request that no one from his company set foot on our property again, they refused to take either from me. The abuse simply started all over again. I firmly believe that they just wanted to tweak us by leaving their flyer here today, because no one in their right mind would ever use these people twice. They must prey on the elderly or unsuspecting tourists from elsewhere who don't know any better; otherwise, I don't know how they would still be in business.

In a way it is fortunate that this occured today. I never posted this until today when Mr. Warmth went off on me again. Now whoever reads this will know what a scumbag outfit this loser runs. They wouldn't have had the benefit of my opinion- as they always will now- if he hadn't first had the temerity to solicit our business again, and second lost his temper, assuming he doesn't talk to all of his customers the way he spoke with me and my wife and my co worker and her husband. Buyer beware.

In response to the rebuttal

AUTHOR: Sara - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 25, 2008

To the man who made the original rebuttal, who is the owner of the company. You are absolutely ridiculuos. For someone who own such a professional and wonderful company, you speak like a jack a$$. If a customer treated you in a wrongful way, you need to learn to speak professionally about them and not BASH them to the public.

Calling a former customer a "baboon" is inappropriate. Telling people that this man has "mental health issues" is rude. And how dare you say "After a few moments I realized I was dealing with trailer trash"!!! I hope people read this and see that you are someone who has no respect for their customers.

My family owns a cleaning company and we have been in business for 10 years. We clean around 150-200 homes a week and we have never received as many complaints as you apparently do. We have read to many complaints online, in print, and we have had too many people say that they had Merry Maids from your area and others and that they were the WORST cleaning company they have ever had. They said that your girls are rude, inefficent, terrible at cleaning, and some of them can barely speak english.

Our comapy prides ourselves on promising a service that will top any previous service, espically Merry Maids. I hope your customers read this and see how you speak about other people. Learn to be a professional.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Merry Maids Best of Boca

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 17, 2003

I just noticed this nonsensical report that was posted here against our company. We have been in business since Oct 1994 and are members of the Better Business Bureau with an impeccable record. Please feel free to verify with the BBB. We have been voted Best of Boca by the Sun Sentinel News Group four (4) years in a row. We clean approximately 200 + homes per week. Are we perfect, absolutely not. Will we be here and answer the phone tomorrow and rectify any problem, ABSOLUTELY yes.

Chris the author of this fable, leaves out many details in his report. He makes reference to a house we cleaned for a co-worker of his, not long before we cleaned his home. In reference to the carpet issue, we cleaned the home and apparently the client called the next day to say the team had spilled some bleach on the carpet going up the stairs and she had a few small spots. We spoke with the team that was at the home and they said they hadn't gone upstairs with bleach. In good faith, we still agreed to send a carpet repair company out to the clients home and fix the carpet. She was the one that became verbally abusive and threatened that if we didn't replace the carpet in the ENTIRE home she would sue us. I sent her a certified letter, return receipt, with a copy of the quote from the company we had contacted to go out and fix the carpet. I still have a copy of this, also advising her that although we couldn't be sure our team did it, we would still rectify the matter. It is always possible that one of our employees did it and was afraid she would lose her job. Accidents happen and we have always stood behind everything we do. There was never any issue with the quality of the cleaning or the cost. It fell exactly within the quoted estimate. This client simply wanted us to replace all of the carpet in her home, and that was not something we should have been responsible for. The company we contacted, communicated to me that this was a common occurence and it could be easily fixed.

As far as Chris's home, he is a total baboon. His wife (Kim) contacted us to clean the home they were moving out of. She was advised of the cost and set up an appointment. The team arrived at his home and the door was open, but no one was home. There was a check on the table for only $60.00. The cost for the move-out would probably have cost around $90.00. Before the Team Captain started cleaning, she called the customer and explained that the check was not enough to clean the home. Did she only want them to stay for the $60.00. She told them to start cleaning and she was on the way back to the house. Approximately 20 minutes later, she called and said she decided she wasn't going to come back and to stop cleaning. She was told we would be taking the $60 check and would issue a credit for the time remaining. The team had been cleaning for almost 30 minutes by this time. Kim, became nasty and rude and started cursing and threatening them.

A short time later, Christopher called our office and immediately started to yell and scream and say we were trying to rip him off and he would sue us. At first I tried to speak to him to explain what had happened. Apparently his wife misunderstood our pricing or simply confused us with another company she called! There are plenty of individuals and companies in the area, with no insurance and illegal aliens as employees that would have charged her $60 to clean the entire home. We simply cant compete, and be a legitimate company.

After a few moments I realized I was dealing with trailer trash and it didn't matter what I said, so we exchanged words and I hung up. After speaking with my wife, decided it wasn't worth the aggravation and destroyed the check. We never deposited the check and never attempted to collect the money for the time the team was instructed to clean for. It simply wasn't worth the effort.

By reading his statement, you can see his level of intelligence in his attack, calling me a scumbag. It just isn't appropriate language and similar to what he and his wife had done previously.

Chris also feels that because he works for a CREDIT REPAIR company, he can threaten people that he will sue them and states he is an attorney. Again, note where Chris works, a "CREDIT REPAIR" company on Hillsboro Blvd. in Deerfield Beach.

In regard to purposely putting an advertisement on his door, Id say that Chris is a bit paranoid. We clean over 10,000 homes per year and as he said this happened about 8 months ago. We have probably cleaned over 7000 homes since and up until he called our office, he was buried in the subconscious with all the other impertinent experiences.

One of our employees was not able to clean houses, but still had expenses to pay and needed to work. We had her giving out doorhangers in the Boca Raton area. She was walking door to door and Chris's home was one of the houses she placed a doorhanger on. This wasn't a conspiracy against Chris or his wife Kim. One can tell alot by reading his statement, and his accusation that we tried to "TWEAK" him by putting a doorhanger on his door. I'm still laughing at that comment.

Had I actually known that was their house, I would have instructed my employee to not waste the .06 it cost for the doorhanger. This guy has some mental health issues and he is welcome to post whatever he likes in any forum. Our reputation precedes us and we have a proven track record for almost 9 years in this area.

When Chris contacted our office, our manager answered the phone and he immediately started threatening that if we ever come on his property again, he would call the police. He didn't give his name at that point, and he was too verbally abusive for my manager to handle. She came to my office and told me there is some lunatic on the phone yelling about his house. I picked up the phone and he started threatening me about going on his property. I said who is this!! He said its Chris Mcfarland and you cleaned for me before and started ranting and raving. I exchanged some not so professional words with him and told him to get lost. As I was hanging up the phone, I could still hear him whining. This man has some mental issues that really need to be resolved. As he said BUYER BEWARE. Our company has built a solid reputation in this area and actively participates in fund raising events for multiple charities in the area. Buyer Beware is a term Chris is all too aware of, while he solicits people to let him fix their credit.

Thanks for allowing me to explain what really happened.
