It has become COMPLETELY obvious that METLIFE uses every possible tactic to delay payment of benefits to it's consumers and surviving relatives.  My MOTHER passed away almost TWO MONTHS ago and METLIFE's service is completely designed to avoid and delay payment.  It has taken me these two months alone to get the FIRST set of papers to file to obtain payment and now AGAIN I am having the same multi-phone call game with them to get answers.

Each time I call they tell me I have gotten the wrong department and I am calling the number they tell me to CALL!  The first time I called them when my mother passed away they eventually told me after talking to quite a few idiots that I had to answer their teleprompting (voice) questions wrong in order to get the right department! I said, "BUT those are the wrong ansers!"  The representative said, "I know, I know, but that's what you got to do to get the rigght department." ARE YOU SERIOUS! That is basic business tom foolery.

My mother was part of Delta Airlines until she retired and I am sure Delta is not aware (hopefully) of the situation that METLIFE is putting surviving relatives through in order to obtain their benefits!

I am done playing the phone games and word games with METLIFE in order to recieve my benefits and told them so...  I can clearly see when someone's system is designed to deter prosective claims.  I am going to an insurance board or governing agency with my claim and deal with them that way and maybe they will decide to fulfill their end that way...

IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE! PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE METLIFE!!  YOU OR YOUR BENEFICIARIES WILL REGRET IT!!!

ACS is a common scam

The reason you have no knowledge of the bill is because there is no bill. They are scammers. You may or may not have a payday loan type debt, but it doesn't matter it has nothing to do with ACS. These scammers use anything to scare you into paying. Because you responded to them initially, they know that you are worried. I am not suggesting that you pay at all. In fact, that would be the worst thing you could do. Even if you paid, the $$ goes straight into the pocket of the scammer and not toward any debt you may or may not have. If you do pay, they will ramp up their contacts with you to continue to collect more and more $$. So paying is not the way to put an end to these scammers.

The best thing to do is to contact the police department and file a report and educate yourself on how these scams operate.

Look up scams in the FTC(dot)gov consumer section to see what else you can do to put a stop to the contacts. Don't answer the phone when they call. If you do pick it up and they are there, hang up right away.

Let your friends and co-workers know that this is a long running scam by ACS and that you chose to challenge them, that is why they are calling everyone around you - to intimidate you into paying into their scam.

A legitimate debt collector doesn't operate the way that ACS operates. There are proper channels. ACS doesn't follow any of these channels. You can put a stop to them, it just takes persistence.
