I paid my phone bill December 24 2016 which was $66 I told the lady I talked to on the phone I was needing a bill cycle change and she told me she couldn't do it that night to call back the next day so I did and the guy I talked to said I will have to pay an additional $30 for a prorated fee because they would be giving me two weeks free if they changed my bill cycle to the date I paid it on so now my phone is due again on January 11 2017 and I have to pay $39 plus my phone bill of $66 plus and additional $5 to have my bill cycle changed. I need my full 30 days now I'm not paying $66 for 2 weeks or you can refund half my money back. Thanks

This is NOT a RipOff..

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Sorry but they are not ripping you off,  however you seem to have no issue ripping them off.  You were VERY selective in the words you choose, but it painted a clear enough picture.  So let me help you out.

Your bill is actually due around the 11th of each month.  In December you paid about 2 weeks LATE on the 24th, and my guess is you probably have paid a few other months late as well.

Now, they bill in advance.  So your bill due on December 11th (approx) covered your service for probably late December into January.  It doesn't matter that you paid it about 2 weeks LATE.  The period of time it covers stays the same.  What you are asking is to now have your bill cycle moved out an additional 2 weeks.  So when were you planning to pay for this period of time?  Your bill is approx $66 and they are charging you a PRORATED amount of $30. Let's see 2 weeks is about half a month and they are charging you about half(actually a bit less).

Yet you now don't want to pay the "prorated" amount for that 2 weeks extention to move it.  Your reasoning..you "just" paid it last week.  Well yes you "just" paid it...LATE.

Actually, they are giving you a pretty good deal.  As it is not very often when a company will agree to move your billing date, so the $5 they are charging you as a fee is a real bargain.

Of course if you think I am wrong.  How about posting the dates of your last few bills.  Such as the Date the bill is due, the date you paid it, and the dates of service it covers.

No, I do not work for them or any cell phone company.  In fact I have a different carrier.
