Refinanced your home lately with these characters? Refinanced in the last three years? You have been had. Over charged loan fees, failure to provide good faith estimates, changing fees at the closing after you have signed your documents, no discounts on qualified refinance transactions for title insurance premiums. Over charged closing fees, ordered by state of AZ to repay and any returned have been kept by the company, you are not going to get the money back. Minnesota residents will never see the money as the owners claim they don't have to give dormant funds back to consumers.

Title insurance rates are regulated by the state department of insurance, if you refinanced with these rip-off folks, you where entitled to a discounted rate. Many over charges where in excess of $250 per transaction. Complaining gets you no where the state regulators are afraid of them.

How is it a company can over charge, rip off consumers and still stand up looking like they've done nothing wrong. Recently investigaged by the FBI for appraisal fraud and still operating. Why? Why do people like this get to keep going and going and going. Consumers are not being made aware of deseptive practices by them and now it's time they stop.

Help the state and federal government stop them by complaining about their overcharging and desceptive practices. They need to be stopped now.

Three years and thousands of consumers and no one is making them pay. IT'S JUST WRONG!

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Ex employee Metro Title

AUTHOR: Kinsey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 14, 2005

I used to work for Metro Title which is owned by Alpine Affiliates. I have not worked their since 2001, but once I saw this report, I had to comment.

They underpaid their employees!!!!!!! Over on the mortgage side they would make the employees charge large fees, and pay them little on the close.

On the Salaried employees they were extremly underpaid for the market. I worked in all three Phoenix branches as a Marketing Manager and was told SEX SELLS, by my own manager.

He gave me money to go by more sexier clothes, get my hair done, etc. I was appauled and embarrassed at the same time.

Now I look back and see this was some sort of sexual harrasment, but I was younger then and followed my boss' orders.

This company went down under not much longer after I quit. I am glad that someone stepped up and put them down, though they aren't closed for good, they just changed their name to Stellar Title.

To all those who are going through Stellar for your title insurance, BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

They over charge in Milwaukee, too

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 21, 2005

God, please forgive me, but I worked for this company in there Wisconsin office.
I've been gone from there for years, but I still feel bad for what that company had us do to people, and we didn't know any better, as most of us hadn't worked for any other mortgage companies.

Since leaving Alpine, I've seen what the REAL mortgage business is like, and I do have to say, it's REALLY nice to actually help people out, and not be forced to over charge them. I really felt like a criminal after leaving that place.
Metro Title is EXTREMELY over priced! And do you know what's really funny? After I left there, one of their account reps called me to see if they could get some business from me, and the prices they charge the outside mortgage companies is about half of what they make the loan officers of Alpine charge! (they are sister companies, hence the new name "Alpine Affiliates").

I could go on, and on, and on about this company, but what good would it do? They just seem to get away with whatever they want.
Somebody that used to work for Alpine Lending (another abused employee), put together a website.

At first I figured that it was just an old employee with a grudge, but after reading all the comments that keep piling up on there from previous employees, I knew that it wasn't! Most of what is on this site is true, to my knowledge and experience.

Best of luck to those that have moved on, and may God watch over those that are still left behind in that horrible company.
