I was ripped off from this company claiming to be someone else & causing my computer to load up slow, numerous of popups infected my computer also. They kept sending out messages saying my computer had to be upgraded using their software that was causing a virus on my computer, which they even scan my computer showing the infected files. My credit card was charged for this transaction in the amount of $49.97. I have the receipt that I printed out from that payment as well.

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

If you downloaded and/or ran anything, you may now have a worm on your computer. This would degrade system performance. Antivirus 2009 looks like a continuation of Antivirus 2008, which used social engineering as an attack vector and then created issues/degraded performance on infected machines.

Google "antivirus 2009" for information on how to remove this.

As for the payment to the company: I would highly advise filing a complaint with your credit card company. You should get the money back in short order. I would also advise you to watch future bills for an attempt to re-bill. If that happens, I would recommend you again file a dispute and let your CC company know that the "product" you have paid for mis-represents a material fact (e.g. fraud has been committed). If it gets really bad, I suppose you could always lobby for a new CC number.

Let us know how you get on in removing this software; I know that Antivirus 2008 caused headaches, and have not yet run into Antivirus 2009.

Good luck!
