MG Direct LLC Customer Service so TERRIBLE, we thought it was a JOKE!! Lodi New Jersey

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

My wife bought me a beautiful cigar lighter upon my return from a deployment in Afghanistan.  Unfortunately myself and other cigar officianados could not get the lighter to work.  It would never stay lit, no matter how we adjusted it or the fluid level.  No big deal, we will just inform the company and ask for a new one or a refund.  

The company told her to ship it back and they will take care of it, but what happened next blew our minds... Was it some kind of joke?  Here is what happened in the words of my wife....


"Hi Morgen, this is Phil from MG Direct calling regarding the lighter you mailed back in, how are you today?"

ME: "Fine, how are you?"

Phil: "Not like it matters, you don't even care, so I'm just gonna add you to the list of people who don't care..."

ME: "Ummm, ok?"

Phil:  "The lighter works fine here in New Jersey"

ME: "Well, it doesn't work in Denver, period, we tried everything we could many times"

Phil: Laughs loudly, then goes on a rant, saying "that's not possible" and then goes on to say how the Giants don't work when they play in Denver either, and on and on..... 


"Needless to say, I was left confused and dumbfounded that a business would allow such terrible customer service!!

So, they said they are mailing back the defective lighter, thanks for wasting my time and postage...."


It doesn't end there.... We received the lighter, and it still didn't work.  So, my wife emailed cusomter service to inform them of the situation with the defective lighter and very unprofessional customer service situation..

MG Direct must have forwarded Phil the email, because whe just received a phone call from Phil, he immediately started in a rant acting like a complete jerk!!  She kept trying to inform him that she couldn't talk about this right now (She was at the hospital seeing her patients, she's a Physicians Assistant).... So after his rant, he just hung up on her.


This time, she just decided to email the company again and ask for a complete refund, this is rediculous!!  

We will keep you updated with the results.... 


Moral of the story, do NOT do business with MG Direct..... NO reputable company would allow such poor customer service!
