I went in seeking representation as a SAG Actor... This place is run a husband/wife chritstian duo. They very oddly made it clear to me at the beginning of the interview that their company is "God's Company"! No place for that in a professional environment, right? I was uncomfortable with the idea of telling them I was not a christian. It was such a peculiar way to start an interview.
While Mellisa Morehead read over a lunch menu for nearly the entire interview, Otis, her husband did the talking... All the stars they discovered and money they've made... Yet, they were so vague and didn't mention any particular film or project... They told me they discovered a girl at Macy's department store and turned her into a star! (clearly this was their pitch and not very clever). They then pushed me for a 140 dollar fee to upload my picture to their website. Couple that with the Christian thing, I felt like I was at some christian revival. Salvation in the acting world was mine if I gave them 140 bucks!!!! Others were waiting in the lobby and imagine they could clean up getting 140 bucks from several people a day!
They did not ask me for my resume or experience... They only asked my name and then asked for 140 bucks. It was so skectchy I decided not to pay and left. I'm writing this to share my experience and glad I had the sense to not join. I think it is unacceptable behavior. I've heard of others who did join and were dropped shortly after paying them. Take heed! Better off looking ligitimate agencies in Santa Fe and ABQ... O'Agency, A&M. Mitchell and Presley are all reasonable people. They wont make you pay any money or tell you how they are starmakers or make you feel uncomfortable for not being part of their RELIGION!

It is an amazing situation when you have people who complain that they were not told the truth by the people they talk to and then get upset when they were.
I am represented by Melissa and Otis of MGR Talent Agency and they have always been completely open and honest about who they are and their desire to help people advance their career.
When you first meet with them, they are careful to explain what their beliefs and motivation are and why they desire to help you succeed. This means they disclose that their motivation is their Christianity.
I have been sign with MGR Talent Agency from the start. Melissa and Otis have never stopped working on my behalf and have certainly more than fulfilled their responsibilities.
Being one of a very few (I believe there are only 3) SAG-AFTRA certified agencies in the area, what they offer is representation and guidance to further your professional acting career. When a person works on your behalf, it is appropriate that they be paid. The $140 fee to list someone on their website is very reasonable. It is also optional. A fact they make abundantly clear.
Furthermore, they believe in true confidentiality and this is why they decline to specify specific names. I can state that their assertions in your interview were completely honest and truthful regarding the careers and people they may have mentioned.
In all the time I have been signed at MGR Talent Agency, I have never been pressured to use any one photographer or service at my expense.
MGR Talent Agency is above board and a joy to work with.
