I purchase a used home from M.H. Services of Citrus, Inc.  I got my first electric bill which was for 285.00 I figure it was because of my water pump I blew it off. The next month I got a 500.00 electric bill... I realize that when the heat was on the outside fan was not blowing.

I call a air condition company to come look at.  He told me which it was written on the inside of the unit that the reversing value was bad and to direct wire he also told me that it was a 3 ton and with a triplewide it should of been a 5 ton.

I contacted Rena and Tommy at the dealer. Rena not having any pull told me to get in contact with Tommy so I did. I told him he needed to send those air condition people out that put in my unit and have them fixed it. He told me he was not fixing and I was stuck with it. I told whom in there right mind would put in a 3 ton air unit on a triplewide he try to tell me that it came in that way.

I asked other dealers I work with and they told me he was full of Crap.  I could not afford another 500.00 dollar electric bill so I turn the heat down for it only to be 60 in the house for the winter time, it was really cold in this house. I guess that is the way I will live until I can afford 4700 for a new air unit, thanks to this jerk.

He should not be in business, I filed compliants with BBB and Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

DO NOT BUY ANY HOME FROM THIS COMPANY THEY RIP YOU OFF AND THEY DON'T HONOR WORD.

AUTHOR: Christy - (United States of America)

I ran into almost the same scenario last year while trying to purchase a used home. Granted I don't have anything bad to say about the company or those working there, what I do have to say is that one should not jump to assumptions and should hold the correct person responsible.

Last year I was looking to make an investment in a piece of property and rent it out. I came across this company and was pleased with not only with the homes that were on the lot but also with the pricing. After doing some research on used homes and dealers, I came across MH. I looked into what the sales price included (home features and optional equipment, such as the a/c, steps, skirting, etc.) and warranties (they are sold as is, no warranties with the exception of a one year warranty on the set), I found out that the a/c that was included in the price was the actual a/c that was with home when it was repossessed; therefore making it a more affordable for purchase. When I asked if I could get a larger unit (3.5 ton instead of 2.5) with the home, I was told I would have to pay the difference in the cost, which is to me, common sense.

I upgraded the a/c a unit to a size that I saw suitable and that was that. I purchased the home. After having everything said and done and the power being turned on, I realized that the a/c unit was the same size (2.5 ton) as the one that originally came with the home. When I asked Tommy about this, I found out that the a/c company installing the a/c disagreed with MH Services about the size that needed to be on there and installed a smaller unit. I was pissed as you can imagine; however, because I paid for a larger unit, the a/c company had to come out and put what I wanted (after fiddling with permiting) on the house. They, the a/c company, advised me that the house did not need a 3.5 ton and by their calculations, which they are the professionals, stated a 2.5 would work just fine. MH Services did offer me the option of being reimburse for the difference between the smaller and larger unit, which I declined and now I am a happy rental owner with a 3/5 ton!!

A question for you, why did the a/c company installing the unit not notice that the reversing valve was marked as bad when they installed it? They are the licensed professional hired to install it. Why didn't you know what size unit was going on the house? The size of the a/c was not only listed on my paperwork but also on my permits. Why did you purchase from MH Services if you work with other dealers? Why not one of them? Not only that but if this was done incorrectly, the state would have filed a complaint based off your complaint to them and it would've had to have been rectified by the responsible party.... I ran into that with a dealer from Ocala.

I did my research and I happen to disagree with you regarding the company but that is my opinion based off my experience with them. No one stays in business for over 20 years because they rip people off and don't honor their word.

My point is, do you research before you get into a bind. If you didn't pay for the size a/c you wanted, you're only going to get what you paid for.  Not only that, what I found out was that the a/c company installing the unit, has to approve the size of the unit that goes on the house by doing calculations as does the permitting office. Everyone wants a good deal, myself included, but at what cost does that "good deal" come at... you don't get things for free and again, you only get what you paid for.

I hope your next home buying experience is better and that everything has worked out for you as you don't seem to be to happy about your purchase or experience... Sorry for that.
