Michael Nicholas Lourenso Michael Lourenso Corrupt Cop, Drug Addict, Forging Prescription, Petty Larceny, Snitch, Oxycontin, Thief, Corrupt Police Officer Bearsville, New York

Michael Lourenso served as a police officer for almost a Decade. He became a police officer to follow in his father's footsteps Adaulto M Lourenso. After several years on the force he was injured in an accident which rendered him "disabled". After speaking to local officers it was deemed nothing more then a "minor" leg injury. After being prescribed pain medication Michael Lourenso began abusing the medication to an uncontrollable level.

So much so that following an investigation, Ramapo police arrested Lourenso at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the age of 35, for Forging Prescriptions to obtain his "fix". Michael Lourenso, an officer for nearly four years, lived in Monroe, Orange County at the time, and currently resides at home with his parents.

The corruption lies in the fact that any other Joe would be in custody and in Jail. Sickening enough, Michael Lourenso an already suspended Suffern police officer already charged in Rockland was      re- arrested on felony counts of forging prescriptions to get pain killers.
 
Police charged Lourenso with two counts each of second-degree forgery and second-degree possession of a forged instrument. Lourenso, who surrendered, was YET AGAIN released with NO BAIL and set free to the streets! Remember Ramapo police arrested Lourenso in February on the same felony charges of getting painkillers from a Montebello pharmacy with a forged prescription, including writing out the doctor's name.

After all of these crimes based on the fact that Mr. Lourenso was a police officer he was placed on paid leave, draining more tax payers money. Lourenso at the time was paid more than $90,000 annually as an officer.

Michael Lourenso was treated so "fairly" that he avoided any jail time, any community service and has to complete a simple rehabilitation class, known as drug court. He was placed on Probation with the courts with the understanding that if he has police contact again, he will be sent to Jail.

Since Michaels outrageously fair Plea Deal, he has been arrested 4-6 times for Larceny. The stores and franchises asked that I not name they're names, but they include local super markets, local discounted merchandise stores ect. I have also confirmed by a local police department that Lourenso has currently been served with a State Ordered of Restraint for physically harming another individual.

In short, you have a Police officer sworn to protect and serve, paid for with tax payers money, broke the law, physically inflicted pain and assaulted another human being, has committed acts of theft SEVERAL TIMES and has YET to receive any punishment. Mr. Lourenso continues to escape true justice. How do you think the store owners that Mr. Lourenso robbed feel? How about the Doctors who spent ten years in medical school just to be ruined by the theft of Mr. Lourenso to feed his addiction. Why after having approx six confirmed chances and being arrested (handcuffed) for Larceny to Domestic Dispute, is one Michael Lourenso walking the streets? Is it Judges and Probation Officers looking out for their own? Or the influence of the lengthy career and friends his father Adaulto M Lourenso has.

Perhaps we should ask our Local Judges and townsman. This corruption has to stop.
