Michigan Indoor Technologies (M.I.T.) is a total scam not only to is "employees" but also to the unsuspecting customers they dupe into getting involved in buying stuff.

First, the "employees" aren't actual employees. You are considered an independent contractor. You have to sit through 5 hours a day (sometimes longer) worth of training for 3 days. Did I mention you do NOT get paid for this training whatsoever.

Your first weekend is spent trying to sell a "vacuum cleaner", an air purifier and a furnace filter to your family and friends. They require you to do 10 practice appointments (on your family and friends) before you are even given any appointments that are set up with the surveyors and appointment setters.

During the training you are told there is no cold calling, no selling, just promoting the product and showing people how it works. That is a complete and total lie. They reel you in by saying you will get $3100 a month if you do 64 appointments. Your first 10 appointments which the "company" considers practice don't count as the 64 appointments. The office appointments hardly ever hold up or pan out.

The surveyors are required to call people through a computer program (which I'm sure the company bought) that has everyone in a certain cities name, phone number and complete  address. They tell the potential "customers" that they are a market research company doing research about allergies and stuff in the area. At the end they ask for the name of a pet or a favorite restaurant so they can enter their name in a drawing for a daily prize. 

Little do they tell the "customer" that the drawing is a scam to get into their house and sell them these products. The appointment setters are the ones who set the appointments and in order to get the "prize" you have to allow someone from the company to come out and show you a product that they "sponsor". Michigan Indoor Technologies does NOT sponsor these products. They SELL these products. On the phone they tell the homeowners that they aren't trying to sell it which is a big fat lie and that they don't even show them the price, which is an even bigger lie. They are told that we are only bringing out a small purifier but that is another big fat lie. They are bringing a purifier which isn't that small AND a "vacuum" which they refer to as the commercial. Homeowners are also told it would only take about 45 minutes to show them these products but, that is also a lie. The sales reps are REQUIRED to do a minimum presentation of 1 hour and 30 minutes or they get into trouble.

Now let's talk about the price for the homeowners. This particular branch of the filtropur company charges 1799.00 for the "vacuum" and 1799.00 for the air sanitizer. The furnace filter is 169.00. Plus tax on everything. The crazy thing is... this company only pays $300 per unit!!!! They trick homeowners into thinking that this is a great deal and all this other crap but it really isn't.

Do the machines work well? Yes, they do. But they con people into falsely getting involved by lying their way into peoples homes. 

What you choose to do with your money is your option, but be very wary because they WILL try to force you into buying once the sales rep gets the office manager on the phone. 

If you do not sell anything you are just wasting your time, money, and gas. Not to mention a lot of the home owners get MAD that they aren't fully aware of what someone is coming over for.

Good customer service

We purchased the Commercial upright vaccuum cleaner more than a year ago.  Although I don't think it is the best quality product because it has had some maintenance issues (parts breaking), MIT has taken care of us and responds as best they can.  They have definitely lived up to their end of the bargain, although I don't believe the product was worth the price.  It does perform well, don't get me wrong, I just feel that it is made with plastic and components that don't last very long because they are not sturdy enough.

Regardless, the single most important thing to me is a company who stands behind the products, and our salesperson was in no way misleading.

I have worked for MIT for over a year now, and they have always been so good to me. If there is any situation with my kids, April always let me handle that. Not a lot of employers would do what she has done. Seeing the post made me so made.

 

I was there the day that Scott stole the equipment. April gave him all the time to confess and he would not lose his job but, he kept on lying to her. So she had to fire him but, he eventually came clean and wanted his job back and she said NO. He was in the office swearing, threw a chair it was crazy. He said that it was not his fault that he stole stuff, that’s how he was raised and stuff. What needed to happen is April to call the police but, she would not do that. She said he had too many problems and that would just create more problems for him.

 

Working for April is a blessing but, she expects you to do the work, I can call her any time with any problems I am having. On thing that she dose not do is lie to us. She is the total opposite, she is blunt Truth about every thing, and she doesn’t beat around the bush.

Dear T. Jackson/or who ever reads this,

 

I know that the person who summit this complaint is not T Jackson, This person’s name is Scott. Scott was let go from our company for stealing another associate’s equipment. We gave him an opportunity to come clean and he did not. I will say that he did return the equipment, and then blamed every one else in his life for stealing. How do I know that this was Scott because he told me that he had wrote all of this. I do not like Rip of Report, because after some one summits a complaint they call the company and say for $4000-$5000 they will remove. With most people getting there information from the internet, I deiced to respond.

MIT is a great company, the reason why that is we are in the business of helping people. We pride our selves on our customer for life service policy. Our mission is to take care of our employees first and then our customers. If our employees are happy so will our customers.

 When we hire our associates, they are hired to show our air cleaners inside people’s homes and businesses. We only do this on appointments based only. We do not do door to door knocking. We have talked to each of our clients 3-4 times to make sure that we can service there needs.  Our customers know why we are coming out, who is coming etc. Our presentations take about an hour depending on our clients questions and comments. They can purchase if they want or don’t. We treat them all they same, what were hoping for is that they will tell some one about us.

When are associates are hired they are paid on how many set-ups they do, we want them to do a minimum of 64. They can do more than that, we also give them a gas allowance. I will not discuss how much they get paid but, they need to make a minimum of $2800/month. We put that in writing! They do not have to sell any thing, all were looking for our associates to do is take care of our clients; it is part of our advertising. When you are an associate you do not have to put your own money on these machines, it is like a consignment , we provide every thing for our employees.

Every position that we have here, you have to go through training, when our associates go through training, a lot of times they would like to take the equipment home and test it in there own home. I encourage that they do this. That way they can see how amazing it is in there home..

I will not discus with you the cost of these machines; however, if you can please show me where I can purchase them for $300 from our manufacture, sign me up. We have different promotions that we run for our clients. I wish I had all the money in the world because I would buy one of these for every one, and I honestly mean that. They are so amazing!

I just wanted to email you to tell you how much I love my Filtropure. I previously had a Kirby and I hated it. It was big, heavy & clunky. It was awkward to change between using the floor/carpet head to the attachments. I have had my Filtropure for several years now, and it is light and very easy to change between cleaning my carpet and using the attachments. It makes my carpets feel really soft. In fact, about 22 years ago we replaced the carpet that had originally been installed in our house 35 years ago. My husband took the original carpet and pieced it together and put it downstairs. This past summer, I was showing our senior pastor and his wife and our associate pastor our house, and our senior pastor's wife couldn't believe the carpet downstairs was 35 years old. She said it was incredibly clean looking and soft underfoot. She asked me how I kept it in such good condition, and I told her it was my Filtropure. It really gets all the deep down dirt out and our carpets look and feel wonderful!

 

Also, I really appreciate the great service I get from you, April, and your technicians. I bring my machine in for regular check-ups as recommended, and they always take care of any minor problems I may have. The employees are very friendly and the technicians always do a great job, are efficient, and take care of things in a very short time. Today, I brought my Filtropure in because I needed the up grade we talked about. I went to your new location and found the building but I wasn't sure where your office was. I phoned the office, and a technician came out to my car and carried it into the office. After the repair was completed he carried it back out to my car. The parts that were not working properly were replaced with updated parts and it is working great again. Keep up the great work and the great service!

I am writing this letter concerning my purchase of your Filtropur sanitizing filtration system. It is a remarkable system. It filters the air and makes it really easy for breathing especially when I have COPD. It purifies the air and makes it feel like you are breathing outside air close to a clean lake with a real nice breeze. I am very happy that I purchased this system. I recommend this to anyone with difficulty with breathing. Also I would like to comment on the vacuum I purchased. After using it on my old worn carpet, it has made them almost new looking. It has removed all the dirt and dust that has accumulated in the carpet for years. It is really amazing. I recommend this vacuum to everyone. It is really a cleaning machine and easy to operate.

I want to tell you how much better we sleep and how much more refreshed we feel each morning. My husband has dust-related allergies with the usual sneezing, coughing, and snoring that accompany them. Now, there is only an occasional sniff, which is more habit than need, I think.

We have indoor/outdoor cats, but between the room units and the Filtropur sweeper, no one would guess if they didn’t notice the presence of an actual cat. (No, cat dander had never bothered my husband.)
