I ordered an ACER 6530G laptop 1/25/09 from Newegg.com and received it 1/27/09.  I purchased a 2-year extended warranty from ServiceNet through Newegg.com.  On 1/31/10, 1 year and 4 days after I received it, the laptop stopped working.

It literally was fine one day, and the next day when it was turned on it emitted a sound that sounded like a siren, with the messages No TPM or TPM has problem; Fixed disk: 0; Failure Fixed Disk; Check Cable Connection!; PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM; Operating System not found.

I called Service Net, Micro Medics sent me a box to send in the laptop, it came back after a week with the same exact problem that I sent it in for.  The MicroMedics invoice indicated that they replaced the heatsink assembly.  I called MicroMedics, and they said that they could not fix the problem because the laptop arrived WITHOUT A HARD DRIVE.

I DID NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM REMOVE MY HARD DRIVE BEFORE SENDING THEM MY COMPUTER.  There is no note of a missing hard drive on my invoice and they did not contact me to notify me that my laptop has no hard drive.  It is my word against theirs and they refuse to budge.  They insist that "customers remove their hard drives all the time before they send in their computers."

As far as I'm concerned, MICRO MEDICS STOLE MY LAPTOP'S HARD DRIVE, as there is no other way to account for it not being in the computer.  ServiceNet has been completely useless in looking into much less resolving this matter, as has Newegg.com.  I believe that the three of them - Newegg, ServiceNet, and Micromedics are in cahoots judging by the way that they have been stonewalling me.   I will NEVER purchase another Acer product or do business with Newegg again.

Sounds fishy...

So where exactly did your missin hard drive go to...hard drive heaven???  Sounds like you got you wanted but left the rest of the consumers reading your post in the dust.  It's okay though, after reading your responses that seem staged I would still never use the company...my hard drive which was never the problem was replaced twice by them and they never returned the broken hard drive.  There is no way I would ever retract my statement people need to be warned.

MICROMEDICS GOES THE EXTRA MILE!

AUTHOR: The Disgruntled One - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 19, 2010
Upon further reflection, I felt that I should further clarify my original update to my posting. After taking a more detailed look at the events, I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT MICRO MEDICS STOLE MY HARD DRIVE.  I believe that it is completely out of a desire to truly go the extra mile to satisfy the customer that they are giving me a new hard drive, and I do not hold Micro Medics responsible for my hard drive going missing.  I even tried to remove this post but the website refused to do so.  I do reiterate that I am still pleasantly surprised to have gotten such personal attention from the company's upper management as well.

Micromedics Working to Remedy My Problem

AUTHOR: The Disgruntled One - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 19, 2010

I have spoken personally to the President of MicroMedics.  I have never before spoken to anyone "at the top" of any company that I've dealt with before.  I never knew such personal service even existed anymore in this day and age.  The agreement we have come to is that the company will provide a shipping label for me to return my computer to them, and they will replace my hard drive with a new one.  I truly appreciate the company's responsiveness and am truly impressed to see that they really do care about their reputation and helping their customers.
