I purchased a computer that I thought was a "good deal." Beware, if it looks too good to be true, it usually is. I should have heeded those words. I went to Best Buy in Canoga Park and saw a great computer made by Micron with a dvd, cdrom, cdrw and the price was good. I bought it and after one month the a drive no longer recognized anything. I could not use it. When I called Best Buy, they told me that I must have gotten a virus and that the virus wrecked it.

Hey, I have Norton and fire walls, I don't think so. Then the dvd would not open all the time. I called and again, I must have had a virus. Finally 11 months passes and my computer keeps resetting itself. I cannot type on it, because it resets itself. I call Best Buy and they tell me that "they know exactly what is wrong with it." Only, I will have to pay because my warranty has run out. They tell me to call Micron.

I call Micron and I am told that the guy wants my serial number. I give it to him and he blurts out "Oh, yeah, you got one of the defective ones that were sold at Best Buy." I could not believe my ears. I am than told that the motherboard is defective and that it has been on back order for a year and a half. Wait a minute, that must mean THAT BEST BUY KNOWINGLY SOLD THAT COMPUTER TO ME WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE. They tell me at Micron that I have to wait until one comes in from Taiwain. Great. They refuse to give me a computer to use in the meantime, as does Best Buy. So why didn't Micron do a recall? Yet, I have read that Micron is going to be outfitting our government in micron computers.

Gee...what does that tell you folks! I ask Micron to talk to the head guy whom Kevin told me was Mr. Anderson. He stated that "Mr. Anderson does not talk to little people." Consumers, we are called "little people". Hmmm. I got no where for a couple of weeks until I e-filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They are a GREAT ORGANIZATION and WORTHY OF ANY RAISES THEY MAY GET!!!! THEY GOT RIGHT ON IT, AND I GOT A RESPONSE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS.

People, the BBB is worth their weight in gold!!! They are an agency that does their job!!! They have my total respect. They follow up and see to it that you get satisfied too. Micron sent a man out to put in a new motherboard, but have not replaced my a drive yet, or my dvd or cdwr yet. I am still waiting, but I trust the BBB. They are people of their word. I truly admire and respect them. As for Micron and Best Buy....they should change their names to: Rip Off and Bad Buy.

Did you say You trust the BBB? STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... click here to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! When there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide.
