Microsoft Paid $90 for online Windows 7 upgrade Professional from Premium. Upon reinstallation, the key I was provided will not work. Microsoft says "Go buy a new version". Redmond Washington
I paid $90 to upgrade my home PC from Windows 7 Home Premium to WIndows 7 Professional on line. I needed to reinstall Windows 7 Profwssional on the same PC. I used a Microsoft Windows 7 Professional DVD install disc but when I enetered the system key that was provided to me at the time of the upgrade I got a message stating that the system key I was given at the time of upgrade was only good for an upgrade and not for a clean install of Windows 7 Professional. I paid for Windows 7 Professional but I am now being told by Microsoft support that I need to spend $140 and purchase a new version of Windows 7 Professional. Had I known I was not getting what I thought I was paying for I would not have thrown the money away, which is basically what happened.
