I too have been taken by Mid Atlantic Engines. Three months left on my warrenty and the engine goes up. I now find out they are out of business. Called the 800 number and was told they had no affiliation with Mid Atlantic Engines. After speaking with my lawyer I have filed suit against Paul Daley, Jr who was the resident agent of Mid Atlantic Engines. I have also filed suit against the shop that did the work for failure to provide warrenty work under our verbal contract. The following information was found on the MD Taxation and Assesment web page

Mid Atlantic Engines, INC
Resdient Agent: Paul Stephen Daley Jr
209 Alice Way
Lothian Way, mD 20711

I will post after I go to small claims court. If there is anyone else out there that has sued them please let me know.

So... things are getting clearer

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 29, 2008

Your post focused on Atlantic, not your mechanic. You made your suit against the mechanic an afterthought when, based on the new info you've provided, it should have been against the mechanic.

Your mechanic should warranty all items he sells you. You made it seem like Atlantic sold you the engine, when they did in fact not. Your issue is with the mechanic - his issue is with Atlantic.

I wish you luck in your suit if everything you've said is true and you haven't abused the engine.

The Shop offered the the Warrenty

AUTHOR: Zepcrmc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 26, 2008

The shop offered the warrenty. They bought the engine from Mid-Atlantic, I did not tell them where to buy the engine from. The shop recipt has a warrenty from the shop. Let them fight Mid Atlantic, they owe me an engine according to the shop warrenty. Go to H* unless you know the whole story.

You're a Jerk for Suing The Mechanic

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 26, 2008

You're a jerk for suing the mechanic. Your "verbal" contract is no doubt based on your assumptions rather than what was said. YOU provided the part, he just did the labor. Why should he eat ANYTHING on a defective part YOU supplied?

He shouldn't.

The answer here is that you've been hurt by Midatlantic and you're not man enough to limit your rage to them.
