I received a call about two weeks ago from a Fred Minor from Mid Atlantic, asking me if I would be interested in selling my timeshare. I did not have it up for sale at the time, so I knew it was fishy. He told me that he had a buyer and would email me a contract to view and sign. I told him to do that. He offered me $16,775 for a unit that I can not afford to pay for because I am disabled and cannot work. I signed the papers and sent them back, and as soon as I did, I was contacted by Victoria from Diversified Land Services title company in NY.

She immediately emailed me a form to sign and the very first paragraph of her email then told me to wire her $1,031 for the fees. I was leary and called Fred Minor, who seemed annoyed at my investigative work. He said he was trying to help me out so that I could sell it but he does not handle the "business end"...Victoria does. When I questioned her today, she became irate and told me that it was not up front fees because she already put time in on my sale. At 10 pm, I recieved an email from Fred Minor telling me that he is dissolving my sale and that I should sell it on my own.

This is all because I know that the fees are to be paid by the buyer and to never wire money up front on a time share sale. Needless to say, I have turned both companies in to the State Police in NY and have called my home resort and told them to mass mail a bulletin informing the HOA about these two companies. They claim to be very separate entities, but yet I was told that he will not use any other title company. Is that not my right as a seller to use whomever I wish?

If you are lucky enough to find their websites, they are almost identical with very little information, no phone numbers of contact and a fill in the blank on the last page. They did not get my money and I hope someone reads this before they get yours. We are letting these people get off scott free when we don't pursue legal action or police involvement. Help Yourself!
