In February 2004, due to a damaged trunk lid on my car, I went on line to obtain a used trunk lid for my Toyota Camry. I thought that I could save money by doing this without having expensive body work done. I was directed to Mid City Auto Parts via "Junkyard Dog" website.

I filled out the appropriate form on line and was informed that they had a trunk lid for my car. I used Pay Pal to pay for the service and waited and waited for the delivery. Finally after several e-mails back and forth, I recieved the trunk lid from UPS. The item was wrapped so poorly I was surprised that it made it through the channels. The trunk lid was not even for my model car and it was damaged. The brake lights for broken and the corners of the lid we bent badly, it was scratched and dinged and in worse shape than my existing lid.

I proceed to contact Mid-City regarding the damaged goods and was told to send it back via UPS and they will file a claim. I had to have it repackaged to meet UPS standards. A man named Shaun at Mid City Auto told me that he would refund my money and the cost of repackaging the trunk lid. I have gotten nothing but lip service ever since. It is June 2004 now and I am still waiting for the promises to be fulfilled.

I am so disappointed in this company and especially the man that I have been talking with. I have had nothing but lies and patronizing conversations with this man/company.

I will never order anything online again because of this incident. I feel violated.

Please remove Mid City Auto from your "RIP OFF REPORT". This company has made good on their promise and I appreciate all help that I have recieved regarding this problem.

I have seen a rebuttal to my original report regarding not recievng a promised refund for the initial cost and addtional cost for have the item professional packaged to return it to the original origin. The person at Mid City claims that he has refunded my money which is a fabication and that the claim with UPS was satified. So where is the refund?

I will feel ripped off until I recieve my full refund promised by this company!

Shaun:

If you claim that you have refunded my money, where is it? It is easy to put into print that you have refunded my money, but why don't you actually do it? Talk is cheap, lip service again has been dealt out to me. Your rebuttal has not eased my problem. I am waiting for the refund in full from your company! Per your promise you owed me the original $150.00 plus the cost of packaging that I had the UPS store complete in order to have UPS pick it up! You promised that you would also cover that expense. That comes to a total of $184.64. Where is it? You have not credited my back acount, which you can easly do due to my Cash card that I used to purchase this trunk lid.

When I recieve my money than I will gladly retract my "Rip Off" report.

REFUND

After UPS picked up the trunk lid inspected it and decided that the damaged was caused by them during shipping we refunded the money in full. That is a standard procedure.
