"Fact- 25 days elapsed from servicing the vehicle to the time Midas was called by Ron. Ron stated vehicle locked up nine days later...Why wait an additional 14 days to notify Midas??? Fact- oil was noticed on the ground and the red oil light came on the dash of the vehicle. Fact- daughter continued to drive and Ron was notified and did not warn daughter not to drive. Not stated, however, most likely engine was making a knocking noise which should have been another red flag for Ron and his family. Fact- Ron never had vehicle towed to our shop for us to see vehicle. Unfortunate situation, however, all could have been avoided had Ron and his family not been so negligent. As a employee @ the Midas shop I would also like to note that Ron previously had a FREE engine put in his vehicle for the same reason-Sound a little fishy??? Not only that but parts of Ron's story have been changed. I would also like to note that Mr. Carollo has owned and operated this shop for 40+ years and has a built a large customer base who trust our shop for the quality of work and service we provide.
One last thing, Mr. Carollo doesn't use the internet so it would be impossible for him to be responsible for the previous comments which question the IQ of Ron and his family. Even if he did use the internet I know he and the rest of us are more mature and professional than that. So Ron those must be real people sharing their honest opinion".
MY RESPONSE TO WHOMEVER WROTE THE ABOVE:
Your employee "Jim", your Asst. Mgr., told me (on digital recording - admissible in Conflict Resolution), that "I am ashamed to work here...it's not how I do business...I value customer service...if it were me, I'd have handles this all different, the right way. Same thing happened couple years ago. We replaced the ladies engine, and she was happy...etc. (Call me I'll play it for you Jimmy/Midas.)
That this car has had an engine replacement since purchased from a mechanic friend less than a year ago...is a patent LIE. Midas/Jim Corollo, you show evidence, proof of your contemptuous lie, and I WILL apologize HERE on Rip Off, and virtually everywhere I have fought you. You've my word on that, and I am not the sociopath greedy bastards you people are. Prove what you claim. I dare you. Anyone reading this, challenge Midas as well! The owner, Jim Corollo's phone is (847) 831-5000. Urge him to take me up on my fair offer to show proof of his claim, and my willingness to prostrate myself here in apology.
The car was is at a local service station in Highland park, IL. where we both do business. Your agent called me to tell me Midas was not responsible, so the case has been considered. Beyond Jimmy, how could I bring to the car to you? the oil drained, the engine seized, it's dead Carollo.
This is being turned over to an attorney if the pressure to be decent fails. Before an adjudicator, a judge, perhaps a jury (I'm quite confident), let's see you lie under oath and purjor yourselves Midas, Jimmy Carollo. I cannot wait for that.
You picked the wrong consumer to attempt to screw, the wrong father, simply the wrong person. I am NOT going away, your RESPONSIBILITY...is not going away Carollo. Call me like a man to discuss this: 847-433-9900, my home number. I welcome the media, legal representation, Midas to do the "right thing", or anyone sympathetic.
I've thrown down the gauntlet again. Take me up and make contact like decent people. Not a "joint" that is incompetent and lies. My daughter's website is www.MidasReallySucks.com. Don't byou want to clear your name? Show me proof that
I've had this engine replaced before? If you can lie about it, show me the documentation?
What smarmy people. Saerch Midas on Pissed consumer.com, or RippOffReport.com. Watch the dozens of complaints! This isn't going away!
