Mike's Great Bear Auto Center Bad Business Practice Hollywood Florida

This repair shop uses unethical and questionable business practices. On 12/01/06 I brought them my car because it was loosing power while driving. The vehicle had to be towed to their shop.

After they performed a diagnostic with their computer, according to the shop owner, the fuel pump had to be replaced. I found this hard to believe since the pump had been changed not long ago, but it is an electrical part, and I placed my trust on his expertise and his computer scan.

When I went to pick up the car, I noticed that he was charging me for the diagnostic ( most reputable places waived this charge if you perform the repairs with them), the final invoice was over $1,198.00.
When I left his shop, not even a few miles away, the same problem again. I was very upset, and contacted them via telephone.

They connected me with the mechanic who performed the work, and he was acting as if nothing had happened.

The car was sent back to them, and now they tell me that it needed some more electrical work, but that they were not qualified to perform the labor there, I had to take the car to the dealer.

Well, the dealer charged me another $1,000.00 plus to repair the vehicle, also they tested the old fuel pump, and it was working fine.
The actual repair had nothing to do with any electrical fault, the problem was a strut that caused the vehicle to slow down in order to avoid further damage.

Mike's Great Bear is in business to rip-off customers. It is clear that they have no knowledge of their trade, and the use of the Diagnostic Equipment is also foreign science to them.
I would encourage anyone that has had a bad experience with this facility, to please report it and help others from being taken advantage of.
