I am a Military Service member that used this company to connect my pre-existing home alarm to ADT.  They were exceptional up to the point that I received orders for a permanent change of station and needed to cancel my service.  This is not an option for me as I am now being ordered to relocate.  I move every 2-3 years so this is nothing new.  I contacted ADT and they had no issues breaking my contract as long as I sent them a copy of my orders which is normal.  The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) is there to protect us for things such as this.  After that, ADT told me I needed to contact Millennium Alarm Systems since they were the company that did the install.  I contacted them and was told that they will not honor my relocation and I will need to pay the rest of my contract that exists with them.  I told them that was illegal and they pushed me onto their Riverside, CA office.  I do not remember the name of the lady I talked to but her number was (951) 784-8338.  She told me that the SCRA only applied if I was being moved overseas.  This is the first I have ever heard of this in my life.  I have taken this to the lawyers on base to get their take on it but my personal opinion is that they are reading between the lines to hold people into contracts for their money.  The only solution that I was provided was to sell my contract off to whomever buys my house.  Given mostly military lives in my neighborhood, my new homeowner will most likely be a service member as well.  I am not comfortable passing this buck off to someone else due to their horrible customer service for our military members.

I have contacted ADT over this issue and they have told me they will see what they can do to resolve the issue with Millennium.  Regardless, do not use this company if you are a military service member.  They will look for loopholes in the very Acts passed by Congress to help protect Service Members from slimey companies such as Millenium.
