In April 2005 my husband and I visited Orlando Florida and while we were there purchased a time share at Oak Plantation. One of the incentives to buying the time share was a free week Resort Getaway, I sent in all the information when we got home and received by mail from Mini Vacations a pamplet laying out all the details of our free vacation. The expiry date was 10/31/06 so we decided to wait until this year to avail of it. I tried calling today to book our week for Sept. and much to my great disappointment, the telephone number they gave has been disconnected, you cannot get into their website, so then I started doing some searching on the Internet and found your website. We were also given a certificate for a 'free' cruise, when I phoned to book it last year, I was told the 'free' cruise was going to cost us $700 US.
We are very upset about this and hope that someone there can advise us of what action to take.
Thanking you,
Lisa and Michael Doherty

I Got Ripped off by Oak Plantation also... I think Oak Plantation is more to blame than MVI

Hi Lisa and Micheal,

We are sort of in the same "Boat" as you folks... Except we were lied to about the duration of the cruise.

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff176148.htm

First of all, I think Oak Plantation is more to blame than MVI. They are the ones who gave you this useless cruise, MVI just fulfilled what they wanted.

I reported this violation to the Florida authorities who are investigating, but the burden of proof is on me to prove and that is very difficult because they knew what they were doing...

My gameplan, and what I think you should do is buy the Rip-off revenge guide. (It is brilliant and worth it's weight in Gold)! and follow it to the letter!

FORGET THE CRUISE, fight for your money back!!! The timeshare itself, even with the cruise it is a rip off.

Hope to hear from you soon. I want to talk to you about how to take them on and get our money back.
