I purchased a livingsocial coupon for MiniMovers 757 for 2 hours of moving service, with any additional time at $92 hour.  The movers arrived and it was obvious they had no idea what they were doing, they did not use any of their equipment, moved everything by hand instead of the dollies they had just laying in the yard and they did not use any kind of protection for the furniture, they would thrown a furniture blanket on top of something after they already moved it around and had it where they wanted it in the truck.  I watched them drop pieces of furniture, move brand new bedroom furniture and not realize that drawers open when litling furniture, they should have secured the drawers as I have seen all other moving companies do in my 6 or 7 moves accross the country.

They took 4 hours to complete the move, most of this time was spent arguing with each other because they had no idea how to pack the truck, taking breaks to make phone calls or to call their boss and complain.  They had to spend time cleaning up broken tile from my patio table that they dropped.  none of this should have gone toward the time worked, how do you get 3 to 4 breaks when it is a 2 hour job, na dexpectt he customer to pay for that time.  They had to stop and get gas for their truck, this was a move that was 15 minutes down the road, why would I pay for them not being prepared to drive for 15 minutes?  They tried to charge me for the additional 2 hours, I let them know I was not happy they were even asking after all the trouble I had already been through with multiple pieces of damaged furniture and their constant apologiziing for everything they were doing wrong.  This would be fine if they were not trying to charge me for it.  I really wanted them off my property so I agreed to pay $100 to make them leave.

I called the manager/owner immediately after they left, he would not talk to me directly when telling me I needed to pay for the extra time.  I let him know of the multiple damaged pieces of furniture and he said someone would be out to assess the damage and make repairs or compensate to replace within a couple days.  I called again a couple days later he said someone would be out in a couple days.  I called again a couple days later and he said he didnt send anyone out because the workers told him that they did not damage anything that everything must have already been damaged previously.  This is complete opposite of what actually happened as I watched them damage items and they apologized to me as it happened.  He said he would come out himself to asses the damage.  Sure enough, he never showed.  I call again, tells me the same story that they did not cause any damage it was all already damaged.  Realizing he was never going to show up and never do anything about the damage his employees cause I called livingsocial where I purchased the coupon for their service to complain.

There were already multiple other complaints about the company for the same reasons to livingsocial.  They called the manager to ask him what happened and this time he said that he had already came out to assess damage and that we had an agreement.  This is completely false obviously, just trying to protect himself from being removed from livingsocial so he doesnt lose business.  Livingsocial then refunded me half of the voucher price as they realized MiniMovers was not telling the truth and had done this to multiple people based on other reviews of the company.

I wrote them on their facebook page, reviewed my services with them and asked them what they would do about the damage they caused to my furniture.  They posted back on facebook that I was trying to defraud them and telling lies that they provided nothing but quality service.  This is a total lie and I do not like that they are getting away with it.  I wish that I had used a credit card for my transaction so that I could refuse the payment with my credit card company to try and make up for the hundreds of dollars in losses I incurred. Furniture is not something that is easy to repair, if the damage is in a certain spot it makes it look bad, even if the furniture is still functional.  I was moving into a new house, so to now have damaged furniture everywhere doesnt look that great.

I spent $200 on the coupon and $100 to make them go away for $300.  I lost the following:

One completely broken computer desk with hatch, they broke off the entire side of it and actually handed it to me, but apparently they didnt do that. - about $300 to replace

Broke off a pretty large size piece of the corner of my nice coffee table - about $300 to replace

Broke tiles from my patio table - this will be nearly impossible to get matching tile to replace and actually make it look decent - aprrox $500 to replace the table.  I actually asked them just for the money to replace the tile, but they just completely ignore me on that, that is the only thing that they actually admit to damaging but will still not do anything about it.

Scratches to brand new bedroom furniture - due to them dropping it and not using any sort of protection -I really am not sure how to fix this, as there is no way I would or can afford to replace a brand new bed, and chest of drawers.

Overall I feel that I lost anywhere from $1100 to $1500 by using their service.  This is not fair to me as a consumer, they say they are licensed and insured so it should not be a big issue for them to help replace or repair my furniture that they obviously damaged.  Instead they are just acting completely unprofessional and denying that they did anything wrong, even though they did not deny it in person.  This company should not be in business in my opinion and should be removed from all of the coupon sites that they use to get their business.  I was told by the company Thumbtack that they used to gain business that they have been removed from their site due to many other customer complaints.  I just wish I had read all of the bad complaints online about this company before I purchased so that I would not have used their service. Now I am hoping to save others from the grief of suing this company.

moving companies are supposed to help relieve the stress of moving instead of adding to it, this company only added to my stress of moving.  I hope that my work of posting bad reviews and complaining will at least help someone else as I am certain that I will not be getting anything from the company.

Please avoid this company at all costs, you will only add to your moving stress and it will cost you more money in the end to replace damaged furniture.

Their response is laughable

This rebuttal is just plain laughable, completely false and expected. The owner is just a crook trying his best to respond to all of the negative reviews about his company. My move didn't require 5 hours at all, they assured me beforehand when they came to check it out that it wouldn't take long at all, but the different workers he sent took breaks every 10 mins and had no idea what they were doing, argued with each other to the point they were calling the owner to co plain about each other. This company is a complete rip off and scam. Just check out all of the other negative reviews all over from other people saying the same stuff.

We move this Client with a gift voucher from Living Social. It covered a two hour Service and his move required five hours. He stated he did not read the voucher and assumed it included all services. He begin to point out prefab Desk and Furniture with preexisting damage and requested an instant reduction for additional services. The BBB mediated as we offered a settlement. He demanded 1500.00 for damages. BBB closed the case and we refused to be Ripped Off
