Patty is buying and selling horses under the pretense she is a "Rescue" and she is  not - she is buying these horses off the meatlot and reselling them as sound horses.  I purchased my 8 year old gelding from her on May 17, 2014 and she stated he was BROKE to ride and DRIVE.  I rode him and was bucked off immediately.  He is not BROKE to ride and was drugged during their video of him for their website.  I have contacted Patty Sherwood numerous times to return him or exchange him for several of her horses she has on her website available for "adoption" none of them stated by her were worth what I had.

I have had my horse evaluated by a professional trainer and they also stated he is not BROKE or DRIVES.  He is 8 years old, not 10 years old as stated, and has absolutely no training at all.  He is also only 14.+/- HH not 15.2HH as stated by Patty Sherwood.  I paid $600.00 for him and I have asked to sell him at $800 since I have three farrier trims, vaccinations and worming invested in him in two months.  Patty replied to  my statement of the horse not being broke to ride and confirmation by a professional trainer - YOUR TRAINER IS AN IDIOT - I HAVE VIDEO OF HIM BEING RIDDEN AND HE ALSO DRIVES - I asked to see this and she deleted my from her facebook page and banned me.

Miracles Happen for Horses is not a Kill Buyer

AUTHOR: PattyNWill - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, August 26, 2014

First of all Miracles Happen For Horses works directly with a horse Dealer and does in no way buy horses for slaughter. It is very specifically posted on our page that we are not a "Rescue". The horse that Karen bought was not drugged prior to riding, none of the horses are nor does this barn have time for such ridiculous practices to sell horses. I ask that she give proof from a vet that this horse or any other was drugged. She said she was a very experienced rider, but did not accept the offer to ride the horse prior to taking him home. She picked him up directly at the barn, so it is not like he was shipped to her and she had no idea what he looked like before she she got him. If she felt his height was wrong she could have not taken him at that time. Very expereinced riders and drivers rode and drove this horse prior with no problems at all. I also tried to help her place this horse in a new home, but she had raised his price $200 in less than a month after receiving him. All horses are specifically sold as is with no guarantees implied or expressed, so the fact that I tried to help her rehome him was above and beyond what was required in this transaction. Since I received an email from her that she was keeping him and working with a trainer and he was doing very well for her. I tried to work with her, but her emails were very nasty and yes I blocked her, as I felt she was unreasonable and not looking to accept help from us. We also clearly state that we reserve the right not to place any horses that we feel will not benefit from the home, I did not think it in the best interest of any other horse to go into a home with her, so did not offer to trade or sell her anymore and suggest she go to a Rescue organization where she can trade them around when they don't suit her.  I still believe her trainer is an idiot and I will repeat this, as just because someone professes to be a "trainer" doesn't make them one, just like someone professing to be an experienced rider is their own opinion of themselves. She bought this horse because she got rid of another that bucked her off....I see a pattern here, maybe the rider needs the training. We have hundreds of satisfied new horse owners and this one unhappy one, I think that speaks for itself. You just can't make everyone happy :)
