Company repeatedly, over several months, calls our number with an automated dialing system, looking to collect debts from an unrelated person who used to live at our address. They call at all times of day. Never anyone on the line, just a machine. About one call in 5 identifies the person they are looking for. Sometimes they ask for one of my family members and sometimes they ask for people who we do not even know. When I try to call back we are directed to a website where they want a reference code, personal information such as our social security numbers etc..

They call at all times of day. About one call in 5 identifies the person they are looking for. The first time they called, I asked for a description of the bill they were requesting and the caller hung up on me. They cannot provide me any of the original debt info. When I finally did get through to a supervisor, they proceeded to tell me that they bought several outstanding debts from another company that let things slip through the cracks and are now collecting for these businesses. I have been harassed everyday for at least 6 months by NCO financial. Some of the debts (which are all medical) that I owe have obviously been sold to various companies because the calls come from NCO financial, Asset care, West Asset Management and I am certain there are others.

When I did call NCO back they refused to tell me who they were trying to reach. They only demanded my bank account info, my ATM Debit Card info, My Social, and other personal information. Well thank the Good Lord that I never gave them this information. After reading all of the reports on ripoffreport.com and the BBBs website and reading about how many people they have scammed by saying that they never received payments, by jacking up what was owed by hundreds or thousands, and even by taking unauthorized money from their bank accounts.

Assetcare kept on calling me without identifying what the call was regarding and asking me to call them back. Each time I called they were rude and they do not offer up any information at all. When I asked to speak to the boss, I was hung up on, I called back and I was hung up on again. When I finally reached another associate I again asked what the bill was regarding. The only information that she could offer me was that it was a hospital visit and the date that the visit was made. No doctors name, no hospital name, no address of the hospital that I supposedly owed.

I told her that I would contact my insurance company and ask them for copies of any of the hospital visits that had been paid and the amount that I was responsible for. She immediately got very upset when I said I was going to contact the insurance company and check into this before I paid it. She told me that I owed the money and that there was no reason for me to contact my insurance company. A legit company would never get on the defense like this companies employees do.
