I am a single mother of an autistic, mildly retarded five year old with epilepsy. I went through a ugly separation and wanted to insure a future for my disabled son. I went online to search colleges so I could further my education.

I found the University Of phoenix offering a program in criminal justice online. I filled out my name and my information on the fourm. I then received a phone call the next day.

The school that called me claimed to be the University of Phonex. However, later in the conversation the said their name was Western International University online. The enrollment councilor said they had a different name because they are located in the West and they are the online campus.

My enrollment councilor also told me I could get my degree in forensics and criminal justice that will put me right into forensic science job I wanted. I wanted nothing more but to offer my son a stable life and future. I told my enrollment councilor all the complications, my sons disabilities and visits to the hospitals and the reasons why I needed to go to school online.

I told him my son was disabled and I can not even work. He seemed sympathetic and said he wanted to help me as much as he can. He even asked me for my myspace page on autism for my son!!! He made me feel so thankful to have found this school.

Well shortly after I agreed to sign up the drama and lies began. First they said my name sounded like a boys name and I had to fax them a photo ID with my name on it. After five faxes we got that taken care of.

Then my enrollment councilor told me all my materials including books would be covered by my school (before I signed) not the case! I thought well this is perfect because I don't have any money. So after I signed the papers and the school got their money I learned I had to pay for my books out of pocket. School was starting in a few days.

Well, my enrollment councilor said I would not need my books right away. By time I got my books I had to wing a few lesions and papers without my books. Some things I just could not do that were in the book so my grades suffered.

Then something happened with me being able to access the rooms and turn in my homework. They said I had to go out and buy yet another program for my computer or get a new computer. So I did just that.

I begged my 83 year old grandma who was on her death bead for money to buy me a new computer and the programs I needed. After getting my new laptop and software it did nothing for the problems. I still turned my homework in but it still said I turned in my homework late when I turned it in on time or they just did not get my homework.

So again my grades suffered. Meanwhile my son was getting sick and I was in and out of the hospital with him. I was up all night doing school and all day taking care of my son. I was busting my butt to get my degree for my son.

Then I asked about transferring credits to another school or the police academy. Well all of a sudden I got a notice they are changing their name to Axia. So lets see that is the University of Phoenix, Western International University and Axia college now???

I asked why they were changing their name and my enrollment councilor gave me some nonsense answer. Well, I had to call and talk to a lady above him and ask about me transferring credits. I lost the phone number and looked online for the University of Phonex.

I called the number and asked for enrollment councilor or the woman above him or at least for the number for their "sister school" Western International Universityand the gentleman said they have nothing to do with that school. He also told me he has had a few calls concerning a school saying they are affiliated with them...he said they were not!

I called the police and the police told me that was a civil suite. I tried to finish out school and I got a hold of the person above my enrollment councilor to fix the issue about my credits. When I spoke with her I told her what the man told me. She said she had no clue what I was talking about she also told me they did not offer Criminal justice in forensics.

I told her my enrollment councilor told me they did and that was why I signed on. Then I told her it was just to much! I told her I was lied to and my son was so ill, I was ill and I was going to report them.

She said she was going to look into it. Well nothing came out of it and everyone ended up quitting or leaving whatever the issue was. I asked for my transcrips and they have yet to give them to me.

I went to school from 04-06 and I have nothing to show for it but an 11,000 loan I have to pay back, some money is for time that I was not even there!!! So now they garnished my tax refund to pay off this debt and my car is broken and I cant even fix it to get my son to school when he gets back on track! I was going to do that with my tax refund money! Thanks to my enrollment councilor for lieing to me, and the school or schools whatever their name is now taking all my money and chance to survive and taking advantage of my autistic, mildly retarded five year old with epilepsy..
