American HVAC Parts.com Pricing rip-off! Rancho Cucamonga California

While their ordering service was good, a recent "emergency" order was found to have outrageously priced the one part I needed to repair my central air - in the middle of a heat wave! As my wife has asthma, time was of the essence and so I went back to this company, having bought the same part only a year ago.

The motor start capacitor I needed to replace the blown-up one was priced at $67. It was a Saturday night and so I ordered it overnight.

Upon receipt, I saved the box and later did a quick Google search. The same EXACT part - a 3FY98 GE Capacitor - turned up at Grainger.com for just under $7!!! Needless to say, I ordered several for future use...

Of course, "buyer beware" applies here and I have learned my lesson the hard way. An email to the company to explain the price gouging went unanswered, so... so much for customer service.

In the end, It's best to search a bit more, especially if you know exactly what you need!!!!
