I have a set of dogg digital 600 sl towers and they sound great loud and clear with the equal bass and treble. one of my friends bought a set of surround sound speakers from someone that i knew that worked for hem and they sound great as well

I got a pair of these cheap in a garage sale. I don't know what they sold for. But here is what I will say. 1) very nice cases 2) drivers look top notch

I have been using these monitors as studio monitors pumping all kinds of music through them including output from recordings that I have made. They sound very good, and have stood up to very large sound levels. They compare well with a vintage pair of ADS 810s and Klipsch KPAs. I have been using them for over a year in this capacity.

Are they the best that have ever been made? NO. Would they be worth 2-300 for a pair? I would say definitely yes.

They even have 1/4 plugs in back for pro gear.

Maybe the Digital Audio 2000s are lumps, but the 2002 Cinema II model really is a decent speaker.

Well you know the story. A few guys in a white van selling Digital audio 2000. In the box. They also had adds saying they were $1000.

Someone needs to stop this.

On april 5th '04. i was ripped off in San Diego, CA just like W and Robert in the Netherlands. I have done extreme amounts of research and found a lot of information. I have a few antitrust attorneys willing to take the case, but it is expensive. I am still looking for a pro bono attorney or to strike a deal with one of these guys to help out. this is nation wide and the thousands who have been scammed add up to millions of dollars. Help me if you want to try to start a class action suit against this group.

On the 5th of April this year, the same thing happened to me.

2 guys in een car/van, telling me that they got too much speakersets for a price of 1600,- (1999 dollars). They said they came from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. They told me there names were Sander and Johan and that they had something like 40 minutes before their boss would call.

I paid 260,- for it, instead of the 400,- (25%)

I live in Leidschendam, next to Voorburg. So could the person called "W" contact me, so we can go both to the police. It happened to him 4 days earlier.

The same story I read al over this site. Two guys in a van tell a good story. They do not want to give the boxes to their boss and he will never know that he miss them.

My addition to the other stories is that they are active in The Netherlands too! Even with the same story they use in the states.

He's got a professional surround sound system worth $4,000 and he'll sell it to you for cheap. He shows you the unopened boxes that look like any other speaker system you would by in a store.

He shows you a brochure and opens one of the boxes to show you the speakers. They actually look impressive!! He gives you some excuse why he has to get rid of them fast and that's why you're getting such a good deal on these top of the line studio quality speakers. Just like the label on the boxes the speakers say Digital Research on them and they are packaged like any other system you would find in a store except for the instructions and warranties. These two things look like a kid did them on a computer at home.

You can actually find these speakers on e-bay by other people that half got ripped off by them. They must use different names for the speakers but I've noticed most of them have the word Digital in them. Look out for the new name "Digital Research."

Make sure you get a license plate number and descriptions and call the police right away so these @ssh0les can be stopped.

Those of you who were unlucky enough to buy something wihout actually looking at the product don't deserve to be ripped off. I used to sell these speakers and know what I sold was a lousy product.

I have them in my own house now and wish I could unload them. So, to be as stupid as pull over to flip the person is understandable. We work just like everyone else, but we prey on unaware people. Some even happen to enjoy what we do - ripping people off.

So, if you don't like your job, like me - who hated it, that's no reason to be angry with those that do. Instead we try to rip you all off. Any way get over yourself, pull over, and look at a good product...at a legitimate store!!!

Nevertheless, my wife bought the speakers since my old speakers woofer's were knocked in, (d**n dog did it!) and I needed a set.
I am used to listening to Bose, MacIntosh, Klipsch or the equivalent and just wanted a pair to tide me over until I could afford another set.

After hooking these up and setting the parameters, they sounded outstanding. The amp is a Sony class A amp with 600W/ch true rms, Dolby Digital and DTS ready. I have pumped these speakers to the peak and they still sounded rich and clean. The reproduction on quiet passes as well as on super-amped audio stays clean. They may not be quite as efficient as MacIntosh, but they are no lame duck, either.

I have been reading the posts from other consumers on these speakers and, frankly, do not see the problem. I sympathize with the people who got empty boxes for their money, (buyer beware,) from rip-off artists, but to the majority who bought actual speakers, they should have no complaints. The salesman who sold my wife the speakers was, in fact, reminescent of a pushy used car salesman, but he did make a sale and I am very satisfied with the quality. True, I wouldn't pay anywhere near the $1,999.00 price tag printed on the box and could tell, just by looking at them, that they weren't worth that much, but I would have paid more than I did for them. These will hold me just fine until I am ready to dish out a couple of grand for an upper-end set.

I have been approached twice in my small suburb of Elmwood Park Illinois. The first time I was flagged over they acted like something was wrong with my car when I just started to hear their scam I gave them the finger laughed and left.

The next time I never pulled over just gave them the finger. They were driving a white relative new full size window van. And they had a bunch of early 20 something's in the van. They had plates that were not Illinois, sorry I forget what state. I had thought of reporting them but I was on my way to work both times.
