I Have filed a complaint about Gossett Dodge, but I also want to mention what happened to my sister, Shirelle Brown, when she went to Gossett Mitsubishi on Sept 10, 2005 and she purchased a 2006 Dodge Charger and kept the car, put insurance on the car and everything basically was going smooth. On Sept 23, 2005, they called her to bring her car in to get a free fill up and to get it detailed as a welcome package for being a new customer and when she took the car back up to the store, they kept her keys and would not give the car back stating that the bank changed their mind about financing the vehicle and that it was nothing else that they could do for her. Now I don't know if its just me, or IS THAT BAD BUSINESS OR IS THAT BAD BUSINESS???

It's called SPOT delivery

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

and IMO it should be illegal.

They let her take the car even though financing was not secured. Then, when no company will finance the deal, they naturally want the car back. Some dealers even go so far as to include a statement in the paperwork that if the financing doesn't go thru, they will charge you XX.xx per day as a rental fee on the auto. At least this dealership didn't do that.

NEVER accept spot delivery on ANY auto purchase-period. The better move is to shop around and secure your financing yourself. You are then in a better position to negotiate the purchase price of the car.

Okay look for everyone who reads this when you go to Gossett Motor cars to buy a vehicle if you have mid to low level credit 99.9 times out of 100 you are not really financed when you leave off of the lot they have a firm belief if you put 50 cars on the road atleast 23 of them will become deals and they work very hard to get the banks to do it but most of the tiime it does not work. Also, I worked for this company for 4 years. The reason for this is to keep the customer fropm shopping if you tell a customer "well I will work on your deal and call you tomorrow and it turns out to be a deal taht will take a week or two to sort out by that time some other lot has spotted their deal and you are out of a sale so all and all they are doing it to make money not to piss people off they have full intention of selling you that car but sometimes it just does not work out that way also you made your credit the way it is not me not the goverment but you so deal with it and live with it.....

That sucks

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

I can understand how your sister feels about it. I admire the dealership's technique for getting the car back though...that's pretty neat. Offer the customer something, and then keep the car.

That's like the cops rounding up deadbeat parents by offering them tickets to a football game.

Did the dealership offer to hold the car for a period of time so your sister can find her own financing? I would think that would have been fair. Did she trade anything in? If so, they should have given her old car back to her.
