Mittelwest Kennels BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING Bolingbrook Illinois

I purchased a puppy from Mittelwest a few months ago and was very pleased at first, but that quickly changed as my pup started to grow up.   I noticed that on both of his back legs, his hocks turn in and touch each other.  He is now done teething and his incisors are all crooked and he grinds his teeth, which is NOT normal.   At 5 months old he is now finished with teething and his ears are still not standing.  I contacted the breeder and she is sending me glue and posts to TRY to get them to stand, but we will see.  My husband and I have tried everything to get his ears to stand with no luck.  The breeder then informed me that she needed the glue back as soon as possible cause she needs to use it on others.  How many GSD's does she have whos ears don't stand??  That is not necessarily a good thing.  My pup also has an umbilical hernia which is a genetic problem.  I was planning on getting him OFA certified and possibly studding him out, but since he has undesirable genetic defects, the only people that would want him as a stud are backyard breeders and I would never do that.  So, I am up in the air on how I feel about Mittelwest Kennels.  Not impressed so far with the amount of money I spent and the quality of puppy I got.  Knowing my luck, I probably have the 1 puppy in the litter with genetic defects :-(

I happened onto this page totally by accident. I typed in Mittelwest to get to thier site as I didn't have address with me. I read this and was more than suprised.

My husband and I bought a 10 week old puppy from Mittelwest, this puppy is now just 8 months old. I have had many German Shepherds over the years flown in from Germany, California and Chez and of course the United States. Mittelwest and Julie are by far the best experience in the purchase of a German Shepherd I have ever had. She was and continues to be excellent in caring for this puppy and answering any questions I have. Like many people who buy GSD puppies you worry about the ears standing up much too soon. I expressed my concern to Julie even though my puppy's ears had been up after I first got him. They went down during teething and I got concerned to fast. Julie sent me the next day molds and adhesive she had gotten from Germany. Julie never charged me she didn't over charge on the puppy I bought and my husband and I have made the trip to Bollin

I had never met Julie or anyone from her Kennels before we bought our puppy. We were sent to Mittelwest by another breeder in fact. My husband and I have made the trip to Bolingbrook several times (5 hour drive) for training help and was more than happy to help at no charge.

Mittelwest Puppies sell themselves and Julie just isn't the type of person to Bait and Switch as is stated here. What is complained about here is the price, and then goes on to state puppy was not in good condition, however you would have bought the puppy if Julie would have taken $500 off the price. Seems more than odd to say. I have never seen a sickly looking Mittelwest dog, Julie loves and cares for all her puppies and they are kept in conditions that many people would envy for themsevles. Selling a sickly looking dog would go against everything I have seen and heard about Mittelwest Dogs.

I have gone on and on here because of my total disbelief of this report.

My puppy at just 8 months, has a Champion Title as of three weeks ago. He has passed the CGC, and was given a STAR Puppy Rosette from the AKC. He will be going to the Sieger Show this weekend. What my puppy is .... is the standard of puppies that Mittelwest Sells. Thanks so much to Julie and her Mittelwest Crew.
