MLM Pools Scott Mitchell Shoddy work questionable licenses no ethics. Please do yourself a favor and dont put yourself through the agony of dealing with this man Grapevine, Texas

I was in need of having a small above ground pool installed & had called several of the major pool suppliers.  John Talley from Coleman Pool & Spa referred me to Scott Mitchell, his friend from MLM Pools.    Scott came out on Sat. July 21st.  He seemed honest, sincere & quoted us a decent price.  He also told us that he would stay on site with his crew as they work for the duration of the job.  

The first thing that completely shattered our trust was that he wanted full payment up front.  We wouldnt give it to him.  He asked:  what amount would we pay up front because he needed it for supplies. Still didnt fully trust that, but gave him a $250 check as a deposit for him to get started.   He said he was most likely planning on coming out Sunday the 22nd but Monday July 23rd for sure.   He didnt call at all on Sunday nor did he come out.  Finally after me calling him several times he finally called back with an excuse & that he would be out first thing Monday morning at 9am.  He called after 9am & kept stringing us along, saying it would be another 30 mins., another hour etc.  Finally, about 12:30pm he showed up with 2 workers.   To start with, they were supposed to cap off the sprinklers first, then pour a small retaining wall to support the foundation for the pool, then bring in the sand & level all of it out.    This did not happen.  Instead, contrary to his promise, he left his 2 workers there by themselves with no transportation and all they did was unload three pickup truckloads of dirt (2 of which I provided) & spread it out where the foundation of the pool is.   Nothing was capped off, no supporting wall was built, nor was it completely levelled out  as promised.   Note this is a small area (approx..10 x 20).  It should NOT have taken all day long to accomplish this.    They also stood around a lot smoking & at one point that we know of walked to the gas station for a break since Scott left them there with no transportation.  It was by no means worth the deposit we paid.  ($250).    I would have cancelled the check but Scott had already cashed it.   Scott finally showed up later in the day to pick them up & promised they would all be there at 8:30am the next day/Tuesday the 24th.

Once again, after numerous calls from us & even calling John Talley from Coleman pools, who BTW was not concerned enough to help us out in any way after the fact he referred Scott & knew what Scott had did.   Scott finally called us with an excuse & was angry that we told John from Coleman what he was doing.   At 10:48am Scott said hed call back but never did. He did not call again until Wed., July 25th at 1:45pm. 

By this time, we had lost all trust & confidence in him due to the shoddy quality of his work, the broken promises, & constantly telling us he would do things that never came to pass.   He is completely irresponsible & inconsiderate of our time as we had taken off 2 days of work to be there for him in case they needed anything.  It made us afraid to open our home to him anymore nor did we want any more of our time wasted.  When he finally did call back, he offered to come out the next day, (Thurs. the 26th) but by this time our trust was completely destroyed.   We told him that us waiting for him to come back over was no longer an option & we just want a refund.  That he could keep the $50 but just give us our $200 back to prevent further action. He got irate & completely refused - told me just to take it to court then because he wasnt refunding any of my money.     He would not listen to reason at all.  Contrary to his smooth talking & seemingly friendly disposition, customer service, keeping his word, being respectful of others time & doing things right is NOT what this man is about.     I filed the paperwork in small claims court against Scott Mitchell with MLM Pools today.  I warned him that this was going to happen if I didnt get most of my money back & he cussed me out & hung up on me.  I could keep going, but in a nutshell,  please do yourself a favor and dont put yourself through the agony of dealing with this man.
