Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I ordered this study guide for close to $60 from amazon only to discover that it is basically copied and pasted information from wikipedia.

In addition to being literal copies of internet material, there is no organization. Topics bounce randomly from one to another. You will be reading about meteorology, and then you will switch to astronomy, and then there will be random meteorology stuck in the page about astronomy. There is false information and tons of mistakes. Even Newton's first law of motion is wrong!

There are many entries that I didn't quite understand, so I googled to find an answer, and found the word for word description that is in this book. Additionally, the paragraphs are set up like flashcards, rather than in an article or paragraph form making it impossible to read smoothly.

Lastly, some items on the Praxis study Guide from ETS are not covered at all in this book, so it isn't even complete. Basically, this is incomplete, mistaken-laden, confusing, ripoff.

We do not plagiarize, we are being plagiarized and plan to take action

AUTHOR: Mometrix - ()

Dear Jessie,

Thank you for your post. We take very seriously the quality and originality of our material and wanted to be very thorough in our investigation before posting a response.

While we have not been able to find any of the content in our guide listed on Wikipedia, we did find many places where other internet sites are plagiarizing our materials. We can assure you our content is original, developed brand new by our team of content writers specifically for this exam market. We appreciate you bringing this plagiarism to our attention and do intend to file a complaint in each instance we discovered where our materials are being plagiarized.

As for your specific concerns:

We were unable to locate the "false information and tons of mistakes" mentioned in your post. That claim is non-specific, therefore difficult to verify. During our investigation, we did not find any false information or mistakes.

While the discussion of Newton's first law does not go into great depth, the information provided does appear to be accurate.

The reason your Google searches revealed the word for word descriptions that are in our product is because much of the material from this study guide has been copied by other people and posted on blogs and make-your-own flashcard sites. Again, we do intend to file complaints, possibly involving litigation, anywhere we found the plagiarism of our product.

After comparing the ETS outline to our product, we were able to confirm that our study materials do cover the vast majority of the exam outline as provided by the official testing organization. There is a possibility our study guide does not match the one provided by ETS as we are more concerned with modeling our materials after the exam outline than the outlines provided in other books.

While we cover the topics relevant to this exam and thoroughly explain the concepts to make sure test-takers are well prepared, we did agree that we could use some improvement in the organization of topics. Some studies do show that studying topics in random order can be beneficial to long-term retention, however, it would likely be easier to read if we were able to group similar information. We do intend to look further into this issue and will likely make several revisions to make the content easier for our customers to digest.

We sincerely apologize for your dissatisfaction with our product. We truly strive to meet test-takers where they are and help them perform well on their exam so they can get where they most want to be in life. We have many competitors who work hard to discredit our company and tarnish our reputation, but our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau is evidence of the quality of our products and of the sincerity of our mission to take exceptional care of our customers.

We do hope that you will give us an opportunity to make things right by contacting our customer care team at or 800-673-8175. Our long-term hope is that you will keep us in mind for future test-preparation needs and maybe even recommend us to your friends, so we hope you will give us a chance to earn back your trust and your business.
