Complaint Description: Moving company contracted to move family from one house to another less than an eighth of amile away. Ihad contracted Monster Movers to move my family and Ifrom one four bedroom house to another four bedroom house. The new home was two streets over within the same small neighborhood. I was given a window of time within which they would arrive and begin moving of between 1pm and 5pm. They showed up at approximately 6:30pm and started the clock at 7pm. Of the three guys who showed up, the "crew chief" went out to take apart the playset while the other two tried to figure out where to start. Ihad them start with some furniture that I had moved to the front of the house to take to storage. That took about 30 minutes, and then the 4 mile trip to storage to unload and back took another hour. Once we returned to my house, they began taking apart my children's bedroom furniture. This went on for hours. Ihave never seen a company whose employees showed such poor work ethic and such little sense of urgency. One of them came up to me at 8:30 and said that the home office had told them that there was another truck and three mode movers that were going to be aavailable and, if I agreed to double the hourly rate, they would be there soon and everything would go twice as fast. I agreed and was told that they would be on the way. I continued to watch the two movers inch along, with the exception of when the leader came in from outside. I asked him when he would be in to help and his response was "its moving along". When the second crew showed up at midnight, the bedroom furniture still had not been disassembled. My wife called me at one point to have me come upstairs because she listened to four of them complain for thirty minutes about how late they were having to work. She said they hadn't done anything. I went upstairs and they started moving stuff out. Between all of the smoke breaks and bs, they managed to have my furniture loaded up at around 3am. Once we got down the street to the new house, they got my furniture moved in quickly, in comparison. They then told me that another crew would be coming later that day to put everything together and I would have to pay this crew and the next crew. This was at 6am. I told them that was not acceptable, as I knew the next crew would repeat the same thing. I told them that this crew was going to have to finishthe job. At 6:45am, they said they were done so I took a look around. On top of damaging my wall, they had broken one of the legs off of my dining room table and done a very half-assed job assembling my furniture. My five year old's headboard wasn't even connected to his bed. I voiced my concerns to the company only to be told that I had to pay the full amount, but the supervisor would investigate and get back to me. A week later, I got a call from the office manager asking how my experience had been. I gave her an earful and explained that I had moved into my old house by myself and had done it faster. She told me that was not possible and that Icould not move myself faster than their three to six men could move me. I stressed to her that I did exactly that, and that was the reason that Iwas so upset with them. I knew exactly how fast I had done it, and they should have been much faster plus they broke my table. She said that she would send me claims forms and that the supervisor would call me within a week. I explained that I had already heard that and she ensured me that it would happen. He called me the following week to tell me that the crew chief said that tall grass prevented him from taking bolts out of the playset. I explained that the lowest bolts were at a level of four and ahalf feet on the deck of the playset. He then saidthat there was trash preventing his men from working. I again told him that he was giving me a line of bs, so I was done talking to him and I would come to their location and speak with the owner and office manager. At that time, he started screaming at me, using profanity, so I disconnected the call.
