I ordered a custom-made pendant from this business advertised as 14K gold. I have a lot of gold jewelry in my collection, so I know what 14K gold looks like and what 10K gold looks like. I knew immediately that this is 10K, especially since it does not match my 14K gold chain I bought it for. I took it to a jeweler to have it inspected and tested. They told me that it is stamped 14K, but definitely is not 14K. It tested as 10K. I believe it is illegal to stamp a piece of jewelry the wrong karat, is it not? The seller offered to have me send the jewelry to be checked at HIS choice of of company, and tried to convince me that it is some sort of complicated processes to test the karat of gold. It is not, I know because I buy and sell gold jewelry all the time. The owner of this business is a liar and a scam artist with false advertising who needs to be investigated.

With more than 20 years as a respected jewelry retailer (we have hundreds of positive customer reviews available on our site), we have never had anyone question the purity of our gold. If this customer had approached us about her concerns we would have asked her to send the piece to an assay/refining company, for a professional "fire assay" to test the purity of the metal. We stand behind the purity of our metals and if the piece had tested less than 14K we would have immediately refunded her money and paid for the fire assay
This customer did not do this. Instead, she based her suspicion as to the purity on the color of the gold (gold comes in more than 24 different shades) and claims she had it tested at a jewelry store (most jewelers do not have an assay lab and can only perform the much less reliable home-kit test for purity). She presented no official results in writing from this alleged test and instead just demanded a refund. In addition, she spewed all manner of vitriol at us. Here is a snippet "You are a liar and scam artist. I am going to get my refund from PayPal, and I am going to report you to BBB Online and the FBI as well."
We pride ourselves on impeccable customer service from myself and every member of my staff. If this customer had approached us in a more mature and professional manner we would have dealt with this matter in the same fashion. By making claims and accusations without the proof to back them up, we are forced to point out the childish and reactionary way she approached this.
