Since December I had decided on purchasing a Honda Crosstour due to experience I've had in snow i wanted a car with 4WD and I liked its design. I looked online and saw that MoreHead honda had a 2012 Honda Crosstour in their inventory. I was a newbie to the whole purchasing of the car bit so I go convinced to put a $100 deposit to make sure they did not sell or drive the car I was interested in.

I also recieved a CarFax which stated that the car had NO ACCIDENTS The next visit I made to the dealership within the week my hold the mileage had increased but I did not think of the previous stipulations until the last day of my visit. Anyway i got my own financing and did a little research and also went to my intended car insurance agent who informed me that the car was involved in an accident for more than 10k and the previous owner had a rental fee of 1500 and there was a six month gap between when the person decided to finally sell it.

This was suspicious. They had told me that I would need a co-signer for my loan which was my initial plan but then decided to do it myself. Suddenly I didn't need a co-signer but I did need to put my deposit down.

I spoke to someone on the phone who I also felt to be a little pushy and made me think to thread softly with them.

Inbetween I had some  family issues which involved money so I had to decrease initial down payment at the time. My usual salesman was off that day so I dealt with another salesman I informed him that I would be negotiating price, test driving the car, and I had a few questions to ask pertaining to the car.

I test drove the car and the steering wheel was alittle rough which put me off a little but he assured me it was due to turning whatever I forgot what he called it . I check the engine's oil and tires whick were okay and proceeded to the sales room. I informed him of the fact that there was an accident on the car. He insisted that CARFAX was correct and basically made me feel like I didnt know what I was talking about.

He called geico and found out there was an accident on the car that they were advertising as having no accidents on its record. Instead he blamed CARFAX. He made me  really feel  like a mosquito that's in the room when you are trying to fall asleep.

No its actually your responsibilty as a person selling me a car to find out the car's accurate history instead of selling a false one that is misleading. Then to tell me that the vehicle is certified for 100,000 miles/ 7 years and comes with an extended warranty is malarkey.

At the end of the day I would have lost because I will be stuck making the indepth repairs that will come later down the road. Taking this information I decided to offer a lower price since I would probably be unable to get the resale value due to this blemish on its record if I ever decided to sell it. Him and the sales manger sternly told me no.

Maybe they didn't think I was serious in my intentions to buy the vehicle but I had their down payment and paperwork ready with me. Don't judge a book by its cover!!!! I just want people to be forewarned that they should go to their insurance company not CARFAX only to get a used vehicle's history because it is not 100% accurate.

Though the car may have not been "the one" my experience with them has left me uneasy and my customer satisfaction of them is poor. Maybe it was because I was a young woman that made them not take me seriously.

If they hadn't been deceptive and a little arrogant with me I probably would have taken the car through them because of convenience and recommended them to my friends or even brought my brand new car there. Thank goodness instinct told me to walk away.
