Fairbanks Capital (aka Equicredit Corp) ripoff Two years of trying to get credit report updated, false late charges They continue to harass me by phone even though I am not late and have asked that they desist. Jacksonville Florida

Since the conception of my mortgage loan five years ago, I have have had five servers. The last two are Equicredit Corp who was taken over by Fairbanks Capital Corp. I have been told on numerous occasions that my loan was late when in fact it was not. I sent numerous letters with copies of checks to prove the payment history.

At one point I was told that a letter had been sent to the credit reporting agencies telling them I was not late and to update the file accordingly. Not so.

I had the agencies research as I disputed the delinquency. I was informed that Fairbanks stated their reporting was correct. I have a file two inches thick with letters written to them concerning late payment fees, return check fees, nonacceptance of my payments, then telling me I'm late. I get a phone call every month on the second even though I have a grace period of 15 days and the loan is not late.

I have yet to see a corrected notice from any credit reporting agency concerning the promised corection to them from Fairbanks. They continue to harass me by phone even though I am not late and have asked that they desist.

I am currently trying to refinance the loan since the 5 year prepayment penalty time is up. It is hard because of the credit report furnished by Fairbanks.
