Two months after buying a used Saab 93 in June of 2009 I received a correspondence in the mail from Motor Vehicle Solutions about an extended warranty service because mine was getting ready to expire.  I had no warranty on the car so I threw the mailing in the trash.  About two weeks later, I answered my home phone and it was them telling me my warranty was about to expire and they had a great service to offer. I explained to them I had no warranty since the car was used and the "sales campaign began." I was explained two different policies that I could buy. One was their standard policy which covered some things but not all and the other was a "bumper to bumper" coverage.  I said NO to both trying to get off the phone. The slick sales guy on the other end then asked what I did for a living and I told him I worked for a MAJOR automobile manufacturer and had for 20 yrs.  He then said, "GREAT, I can give you the bumper to bumper policy at a friend and family discount!  He said it would cover EVERYTHING and the price would be $2,175.00 which was about $1500.00 cheaper than the original quotes he threw out to me.  He talked about how low my mileage was on the car at 60,000 miles since it was a 2000 model and we never knew what was going to happen with a car and it was a peace of mind to be covered if anything did. I now know there is ONLY ONE POLICY THEY OFFER!! He set up all the transaction and my payment was going to be 112.56 a month for 18 months through Mepco Finance Corporation.

About three months later, I had an issue with my air conditioning system and I looked in the manual they had sent me.  It said it covered the air conditioning system. The major components of course and ANY related parts therof.   My orifice tube was apparently not covered and my claim denied!! I called the claims number on my card they issued and sent and actually got a human.  A woman who then explained to me that Idid not have the bumper to bumper coverage!  I said to her that is what the saleman sold me and then she said well, we are just claims, we dont deal with who sold you the policy.  I paid the several hundred dollar repair and let it go.

About 6 months later my thermostat went out, looked in the manual and didnt see ANYTHING on this bumper to bumper coverage that I was paying for on a thermostat. Didn't even call them and that bill was again several hundred dollars. Keep in mind that I am paying these people $112.56 a month.  And one time my payment was late because of a credit card issue and believe you me, Mepco was hounding me for the payment!  And I want to stress something else that is very important and a loophole that these shady people use! I am very maticulous in my vehicle maintenance.  Every car I have owned has been maintained diligently. I sold a truck of mine that had over 275.000 miles on it (and I bought it brand new off the lot)and it was still running great. The guy who owns it now is still driving it!  I have another truck that is a 99 model that I bought in 2001 and it is running great and all I have to do with it besides regular maintenance is  replace the wheel bearings.  I bought this SAAB as a deterent from gas prices when they shot through the roof. I have maintained it just like I have done every other vehicle I haved owned. But apparently if you go to Jiffy Lube or some place like that for oil changes doing the right thing for your car, it is the loophole this company has to deny claims.  I took the Saab in recently because I was experiencing an oil leak.  I took it to a SAAB DEALERSHIP(because the manual provided to me said you have to take it to a certified facility for repairs) and they came back that I had several oil leaks due to failure of seals and my oil sending unit was not working properly, etc etc  and the repair cost was going to be over two thousand dollars!  I gave the dealership my warranty information and after they called, I was told that a human could not be reached so they faxed a copy to a second number they had found for the warranty service.  Which a few hours later a fax was sent back to the dealership that the claim was denied because I had not followed "manufacture's recommendations!!  Seems if you try to maintain your car in the proper way you are still going to get screwed by this comapny.  I told the dealership I would try to call them but to my surprise...there are NO MORE HUMANS you can talk to.  The 1-800 number they provided was no longer in service and the other number I had, prompts you to go the Questions@checkaclaim.com and the oher prompts were if you were a dealership with or with out internet access. I pressed the number for a dealership and yet again I was prompted to go to a website.  I called my credit card company tonight to stop anymore payments to this comapany, and to my dismay just made the last payment last month.  They got $2,175.00 from me scott free and did  not do a d**n thing!!  I immediately got online to look up this company and found out what a scam it was. I was NOT ALONE!  These people need to pay every single person back their money they scammed!  What comes around goes around and I so believe in karma.  These people will reap what they have sown eventually and individually for taking part in such a scam.  God's wrath will be worse than anything I want to happen.

Motor Vehicle Services is a Sham!!

AUTHOR: Gary Goldberg - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, December 31, 2011

Motor Vehicle Services has been mailing me solicitations for years now, and I have been calling them to demand that they remove my information and stop sending me solicitations for almost as long.  Their employees were prank calling my cell phone after I called them, and displayed their ignorance during the course of conversation.

I discussed a line in their solicitation that states "This letter is to inform you that your factory warranty has expired or is about to expire."  This is a misleading statement and is present on all of their mailings.  My warranty does not expire for years, and is nowhere near the mileage for it to expire.  This company is a fraud.  I am saddened by the idea of the people, elderly and other that trust this company with their money, for the company to refuse services when needed.  There are countless complaints of this company refusing to pay when the warranty should be paying out.  This company needs to be shut down.  They are a group of uneducated misfits who have no other outlet than to defraud people of their hard earned money.
