My daughter was called on her cell phone and offered a 500.00 shopping spree. She willing gave all her information (just made 18). Then they told her she would need to buy a magazine subscription for only 39.90. She said no. They still billed her account. When asked to refund her account they were like once the information is recorded it is too late. Very rude. When asked about the shopping spree, I am sure that is a scam also, probably a spree on whatever they offer. Point is when she said no they should have never touched her account.

Pay Attention

AUTHOR: Ccp-mnh - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 02, 2009

I'm sorry that you feel that your daughter had problems with our company. But, I stress this next part... She is an adult.. She is 18 years old. She should have been taught to pay attention to anything and everything. I have a child and I feel that if my child puts himself in that position at 18, then it's in part my fault for not readying him for adulthood.

With that being said, she should be the person on here complaining, not her parent.

Also, I have worked for this company for a very long time. I know that our company has calls and checks up on every single customer within a year of the start date of the service and 99% of the people want to sign on for a longer service.

Also, we have 3 departments, Sales, Gift Department, and Verification. I work on the sales floor. I know for a fact that everything is thoroughly explained and if someone says "No" we do offer smaller packages because we do understand times are hard and some people, not all, can afford the smaller ones. If they still say no, we thank them and hang up. We do not force anyone into taking anything. We are monitored by our bosses and our owners and we have a very strict script that we have to follow. If we do not follow the script, we can easily lose our jobs for being dishonest.

When the call goes to the gift department, that person verifies that we explained about the shopping spree and the magazines, the price and the length of the service. If the customer says no at any time during this conversation, the supervisor hangs up the phone.. hence supervisors are who you talk to in the gift department. There is NO charge taken when they give out credit card information. There is a 24 hour hold placed on the funds when we verify the account but that drops off after 24 hours. It is illegal for us to charge you without your permission. And about the $39.90... NEVER have they ever said it's just $39.90. It's $3.85 per week for the 60 month term. But they consolidate the payments to pay them off faster and to actually save you a little bit of money so that's not a one time fee of $39.90. It's in monthly payments over less than 2 years of the 60 months. So, maybe you should have taught her to pay attention?!?!?!

Before the order is processed, the call is hung up and a verifyer calls the customer back to verify the correct telephone number. They are in a seperate room where they do a quick run through of the service and payments and ask if they agree and if they say "yes", then the order is processed. If they say "no" the call is ended and the information is shredded. Nothing is kept on computer for security purposes. This conversation of approval from the customer is actually recorded.

If you would pay attention to the first 3-5 minutes of the entire process, you will know exactly what you are getting for free and what you are paying for. Most of us sales people are very friendly and will gladly give you time to get to a quieter place so you can understand everything we say. If you have any questions during the call, we gladly answer your questions to the best of our ability and if we don't know, we'll gladly transfer you to our supervisors who will know exactly the answer to your question.

And lastly, they are told about the shopping spree and the magazines and the amount of the magazine shipping charge by a salesperson. THEN they are transferred to the gift department where they give out their card info. There is NOOOOOOOOO way that she was offered the shopping spree then transferred and credit info given then told about the magazines. Maybe you should get a better story from your daughter. I know from experience, being a young daughter myself, that in the past I sometimes if not always sugarcoated the things I have done that upset my dad and try to put more of the blame on someone else rather than myself........... cause we sure don't want to disappoint our parents.

PAY ATTENTION

I am an employee and let me break this down for you. I am going to try to make this where you can understand it okay...NOW LISTEN...$49.90 for so many months not the whole time. When you were transferred to the gift department they explain this where even my 7 year old can understand it. Here is my suggestion for you when you get another call offering you a great deal like my company did

The only ripoff is the $500 shopping spree..

AUTHOR: Ginabina31 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 24, 2008

Hello,

I was also called by this agency and I signed up, 'cause who doesn't want a shopping spree?! I did not give my soc, and I was NOT charged without going through a lengthy process of verification.

I am very satisfied with my magazines and the customer service, however the "$500" shopping spree is a JOKE! They only allow you to spend it at one designated website, and there is a shipping and processing charge on EVERY item that equals to like $10. OH, and once you decide to check out, you cannot use the remainder of your credit EVER AGAIN. And the stuff they are offering you SUCKS!

So, magazines/customer service=cool, shopping spree=not cool.

WE NEVER CHARGE ANY ACCOUNT WITHOUT RECORDED PERMISSION!!

AUTHOR: Proud Employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 12, 2008

I have worked for the company since day one. All orders that are placed with our company go through a very lengthy process to make sure the customer is aware of exactly what they are agreeing to. The very last conversation is a verification recording and the customer is asked if we have their permission to process the order and the payments and they answer yes or no. If a customer answered no to that question, the order is automatically shreaded and no further contact is made. We have never and will never charge any card without recorded permission..
