I purchased four horses via the internet from the Farm. Six year old quarter horse and her six month old colt, a two year old bay saddle filly and a nine year old belgian/quarter horse gelding.

Mess from the start! Truck broke down. We had to rent a trailer and use our truck to deliver home and take back drivers. Mom and baby were a two on scale. All bones showing, and rainrot over 80 of body. The bay was skinny also. Draft horse in ok condition. All had crusted feces on them.
Baby ended up being a filly and after a month and huge vet bills we lost her. She was to far gone. Draft horse turned out to be a 15 year old female and the bay we had to get rid of because she was so abused she went crazy. She kicked me twice! We took Val and Donnie to court and won and they have yet to pay us! We still have the draft horse and quarter horse. Can't ride the quarter horse because she can't be trusted. Feel she was abused also! Sad thing, these people were school teachers!

very sorry to hear about the way the horses were treated. when I looked at their web site I was sad to see so many horse cut, thin and their poor feet looked so bad, but I also saw the horses being sold fast and alot of them so I thoght every thing was ok. horse lover in md. Donna

Mountain Dew Farms still selling animals

I an a soon-to-be first time horse owner and I visit the site www.agdirect.com quite often. I found that Mountain Dew Farms has at least 2 active listings of horses on that site. According to the outcome of the trial, they are not permitted to own any animals for 3 years. Someone is going to get ripped off again.

ONEIDA (WATE) -- The Scott County district attorney general's office is pursuing animal cruelty charges against the operators of a farm in Oneida.
Mountain Dew Farms is located on Stanley Creek Road in Oneida, about 65 miles northwest of Knoxville.
After getting a complaint from someone trying to buy horses from Mountain Dew Farms, a group called Horse Haven of Tennessee went to the site to investigate.
The group took some pictures showing horse carcasses on the property. In one picture, there are only skeletal remains. Another picture shows a skeleton with other bones lying on the property.
Horse Haven of Tennessee says their members found five dead horses and two dead goats.
"It was absolutely, not only was it terribly disgusting to smell and look at, to know that it was in 20 feet on the front door of that house, that whoever pulled in there and got out and went to that house, there it laid," says Nina Margetson, Horse Haven.
The owners of the Mountain Dew Farms are Val and Donnie Moody. The DA's office says it plans to file animal abuse charges against them.
