Relocated to Michigan to Texas. I hired Moving Central, Inc. located at 6263 N. McCormick #312 Chicago, IL 60659 phone: 866-334-8358 that is bonded and insured to move my 1 bedroom apartment from Rochester, Michigan to Mesquite, Texas. Items were  picked up from my home on June 30, 2012 and were never delivered to me. I contacted Moving Central because I did not hear from the driver after he confirmed that my items would be delivered on July 18. Maria from Moving Central customer service department told me that she had bad news and that my container was stolen by another transport company named Swift. Moving Central claims that they have a driver from Swift on camera backing into my container and never dispatching it. Moving Central contacts Swift and Swift denies that they had anything to do with the missing container.  Moving Central explains to me that they leased a container from Swift and they will be hiring an attorney to resolve this issue. Moving Central filed a police report with Denton police department located in Texas because that's where the container came up missing. I spoke to the detective in charge of this case and he told me he is NOT investigating it because it's not a crime report since it's a problem between two companies. I resigned from my job because I could no longer live under those conditions with nothing I had no money to buy my whole life again so I moved to El Cajon, CA on July 30th to live with my parents. I hired Moving Central not Swift.

Moving Central has been very negligent and is not offering to compensate me for anything they are telling me that they are still trying to locate the trailer it has been over a month now. I have been extremely depressed since they caused me to lose everything that I have ever owned and made me lose my job due to the circumstances I was put in. The only I own now are the items that I brought on my carry on. Moving Central contact information is 224-534-8084 Extension 406 Maria is in charge of my case and she also has not been giving me any updates nor is returning my calls. I also contacted claims department of Swift  and spoke to Shelly Perez 623-907-7873 she told me that Swift delivered the container at the holding yard, but Moving Central's driver moved it to another place and that's where it came up missing. They claim they are insured with Dawson insurance company I tried contacting them and they are not responding to my messages either. Moving Central has over 50 claims made against them with the BBB. They are scamming people every day and many lawyers don't want to take the case because of the agreement paper customers sign that protects the company in case our items gets lost or stolen they are not responsible for it.

Moving Central Compensation

AUTHOR: Nina - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Days before I get a call from Shai they send me a letter with a check in the amount of $1617 to compensate me for items that were over 50,000. They are not part of the BBB but many people have filed complaints about them. They have ripped off many people in the past paying them only .60 cents per pound if their items are lost or stolen. Not me buddy the law is gonna make them pay for emotional stress, resigning from my job due to the circumstances I was put in, airport fees, and also car shipping fees. They are going to learn! Moving Central SCAM

AUTHOR: Nina - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 25, 2012

My fiance is a special agent with FBI we sent them a letter demanding compensation or else they will get investigated by his agency. I just received a call from Shai and said he has good news that they somehow found my container in Oklahoma and it's still sealed front to back. This is not a coincidence it's a scam and they are involved with other drivers from Swift transport.

They found the container!

Hi,

My stuff was also in that container. After nearly four months, they found the container upon getting our lawyer's demand letter. The container surprisingly turned up in Oklahoma on the very day their lawyer responds to the letter, surprise surprise! It's either a miracle coincidence or this company has taken scamming to a whole another level. Either way, did they really think they would get away with this?

Like you, they refused to compensate me or show ANY remorse/consideration to the fact that FIVE people lost everything they have ever owned due to their negligence. Now after being hit with a $70,000 lawsuit, the container suddenly turns up (and that amount is nothing compared to the pain/emotional distress they have caused us). I don't think so....

I already have a lawyer and if you would like to add your statement to the case or join hands, you are more than welcome to. You can email me at (((email redacted))). They should not be a moving company if they can't protect anyone's belongings and if they are scammers, they need to be stopped!
