Unfortunately, while my mother was driving her car down the road. The car broke down and had to be towed. She asked a friend if he might know someone trust worthy, who could find out what the problem was. He thought he did.

So, she had the car towed to Mr. Quick Tune. Later he called her and told her that the starter was bad and it would cost $209 for a new one.
When she asked why the starter was so high he said that was what the parts store charged.

Something isnt right here; let me look this up on the internet. I found New and refudished starters at Auto zone, Advanced Auto parts, Napa, and others for the car a lot cheaper, around $100.

She called him back and asked him if he would use one of those or at least find one a little cheaper. He said You cant get Kroger steak price at a steak house. Then she asked if she could bring a starter in, if he would he put that one on instead,

!!GET THIS FOLKS!! His comment was Hey, if you bring you meat to Burger King, would they cook it. Smart a*s
$378.00 later, He called her back and said that Now the alternator was bad and it too needed to be replaced. That it would be another $400.00 plus. Just to put it on.
I told her that she needed to just get the car and I would fix it and I wouldnt charge her.
She called him back and told him that we where coming to get the car.

He didnt like that. He said that if we were going to get it that he would not Warranty the starter.
On the way there my sister called her ex-husband (certified Toyota mechanic) who lived in Mariland. He said that the starter had nothing to do with alternator and that this person was trying to scam her.

We got to his place to pick up the car. We walked in asked for the key (witch he lost and took him 30 minutes to find it). Then he started in with a bunch of lies that I will not say here (Unless He want to rebuttal. Then I will bring out the nasty). He would not even give a proper receipt for the work that he did.

Needless to say we got the car, fixed it at home, with the (Kroger price) AutoZone alternator and learned who not to recommend.

Now lets compare notes here (Steak house) starter $209 with a one year warranty, Alternator $400 plus with a one year warranty. (Kroger brand price) starter $89 with a life time warranty, Alternator less than $100 plus a life time warranty.
