I bought a new Yard Machines riding tractor with a Tecumseh motor in May of 2008, it came with a two year warranty. I used this junk for about half the summer of 08 before it started to give me problems.  It would cut off about halfway through cutting the yard. I made it through the first season barely.

So the 09 season rolls around and the problem with the tractor just gradually got worse.  I finally contact MTD about getting it fixed before the warranty ran out and they found me a local authorized dealer and the shop came and picked it up for repair. 

I let the guy keep the mower throughout the winter months and called him at the start of 2010 mowing season only to be told since it was a Tecumseh he was having problems getting the parts.  After more calls throughout the 2010 mowing season I kept getting the same answer.  So it got so late in the season I figured might as well wait another winter through to try and get it back from the repair.

Now with it being May of 2011 I called the shop once again to tell them I was just going to come and get it regardless and worry with it myself, only to find the shop is closed so my first reaction is to call MTD and to make a long story short was basically told they could care less it was my problem.  I argued that this was a dealer THEY authorized and they needed to pick up the slack that the dealer THEY contracted the work out to but again they could care less it was all my fault. 

Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which was bascially a waste of time (not suprised) so now my mower is who knows where and MTD really made it clear that once they have the consumers money in the bank don't bother them anymore.  Needless to say I'm NEVER going to buy ANYTHING MTD again and will tell anyone I know that even thinks about it you'd be better off cutting your own grass with scissors or buy a horse first.
