I contracted with Mustang Van Lines to handle a move from lower NY State for my parents to the Tampa, Florida area. This was supposed to be a pick-up of the shipment on 8/6/2004 and delivery on 8/16/2004.

The load was picked up (eventually) on 8/6 by 2 people of foreign origin who spoke nearly no English and we could communicate with them only through pointing and sign-language/gesturing. They nearly broke pieces moving them onto the truck, couldn't load beds onto an elevator in our building (we had to guide them on sizing and dimensions), and we actually had to move quite a bit of the load ourselves because they showed up so late in the day. Coming out of our large parking lot, they nearly hit a parked vehicle and tore a chain-link fence in the process (I'm awaiting that bill from the building owner).

Onto the delivery -- several phone calls from 8/16/04 onward expressed from my sales guy that my contract stated that they had 3 weeks to deliver my shipment, despite it being clearly written that my shipment would be delivered on 8/16/04. When I spoke to my original "smooth-talker" sales guy (Jesse), I got a whole song and dance about how they want to make me happy, then when I mentioned that this really needs to be delivered (versus the implication that they wanted something else from me to deliver the shipment) or that I'd need to report the load as stolen proerty, I got a whole different set of shenanigans from the company. Oh, and don't even bother speaking to the owner, Dekel. Foremost, he also speaks nearly no English, and what English he does speak is with complete arrogance, disregarding both the contract that he entered as well as the fact that I'm the paying customer. Calling their dispatcher is a lesson in futility, since he talks over you and has only been with the company 3 weeks and therefore doesn't really know his job (he indicated he was a temporary employee) and tells you that 'he can't tell when the load would arrive'. His supervisor is much the same.

On 8/20, I was still being told it's 4 days away, but the truck did not yet leave New York! It seems as if they were waiting for more business before sending the truck in our direction, regardless of the contract. In fact, after we pointed out that their job is supposed to be moving and telling us the logistics of how/when our shipment should arrive, this alleged dispatcher just gets surly in some foreign dialect and talks over you again.

Yes, I did get my shipment -- another 2 weeks after the committed date of 8/16, so my in-laws were sitting on folding chairs and sleeping on a floor for most of this time, awaiting their shipment as promised. The end result is that I filed a BBB complaint with the local bureau, to which they've responded in an equally surly and condescending tone. Their suggestion for addressing my grievance was even more insulting -- deny everything back to the bureau, and offer up a 10% discount on any future moves.

I'm not a masochist, so I didn't bother to test their offer.

Also, since apparently these guys move around quite a bit, you might do an equal search on Dekel Avraham and Eyal Ross, or check into DOT# 1187755 or MC# 474144 to see what they may be posing as now...and avoid the new firm as well.

If you want a clear example of a Florida Moving Scam, this one takes the cake. I cannot stress enough that this is a mover that you should avoid at all costs, they've just been a ton of problems, they're totally unresponsive to your complaints.
