A salesman selling something else during a promotion issued me a voucher for a free vacation during his presentation. I called the number to verify my trip and was asked for my credit card number. She said that I would need a valid credit card to be eligible for the trip and that was the only reason she needed it.
The representative assured me that the card number would not be used until I actually confirmed reservations, which I could not do until the company sent me a package with details in the mail.
I NEVER received a package of anything in the mail. When I called the same number to ask why, I was told to call another number. For days no one answered at this number, just a machine telling the office hours--which lied obviously.
Anyway, I just gave up and decided that I would see what happened. The next month, my credit card was charged $99 with no explanation as to what the charges were.
When I called Mini Vacations, I either reached a machine or an extremely rude person who told me they did not know what the charge was and to let my credit card company handle it if I didn't want to pay it.
In other words, there was nothing they could do about it. I find it very strange that a company can charge you $99 and not have any records of charging you. I have spoken to reps from Mini Vacations 8 times now, and each time someone promises to look into it and call me back. I have yet to hear from a representative, and have instead contacted my lawyer to look into it. The fact that the company still operates is beyond belief. After reading all of these reports, I am sadly disappointed that we have no more protection against blatant scams.

NOTE: Rip-off Report launched a complete investigation on this particular situation and found that Mini Vacations had no control over promises another company makes when marketing their vacation coupons. Even though Mini Vacations is not responsible for another company's actions, they have been giving FULL refunds to anyone who has contacted them, and has even given more than they should have in the name of good customer service
