We became trapped in a contract with My Alarm Center for 3 years. During those 3 years, the equipment never worked properly...never. The alarm would go off at all hours and for no reason and the only way we could get it to turn off is to physically unhook it. Not a single call concerning equipment complaint that we made, and there were many, were ever responded to. We have spent hours and hours on the phone and nothing was ever resolved. So, we paid for a system that was unhooked and laying in the floor for over 2 years. When our contract was up, we told them...verbally and in writing as we were told to do, that we no longer were to be customers and we would not be renewing our contract. They never canceled it. Now they are trying to charge us for another 3 months when we canceled.

At the end of this 2 hours argument tonight, we were threatened and told that our account would go to collections if we refused to pay it, and our credit would be ruined. Well, then i guess it will go to collections because we are not paying a single penny more to this ripoff, lying, deceitful, theiving "company". All they do is lie and steal from their customers. We have complained for years, and now tonight, we were told that they couldn't find any complaints from us. Right...complete crap. They then said that all they could see was complaints where they had to contact us for non payment...well yea...we refused to pay because they never sent us any equipment that worked!!! Unfortunately, my husband, did pay in full and through the end of the contract, against my wishes, just so he wouldn't have to deal with them, We will not pay them another dime.

Oh and get this...we were told we could sell the equipment because its ours. Gee...thanks...we can sell a broken piece of crap to someone else. We can prove the equipment is broken and that it has not been used, so we will not be paying for something that was broken and that My Alarm Center has known is broken. We will pursue this as long and as far as it takes and we will be letting all of our neighbors know exactly what this company has done and what they are about. Especailly since we live in a close community and our neighbors have all been asking each other who has a good alarm system. They have definitely lost our business, but they will also not be receiving any business from our friends, families, coworkers, clients, etc. When we are asked, and we are asked all the time through real estate connections, we will be letting everyone know exactly how My Alarm Center operates.

We emailed the person who said he was responsible for our account and that has refused to help  us getting the account resolved unless we paid for 3 months that we were charged after we canceled te contract, and he is still saying he will not do anything with our account and if this is a "legit" response from My Alarm, then someone else will close the account. His response is attached below. Can someone please make sure that the account is indeed closed and have an email confirmation sent to us so that we know this is resolved. Whomever is responsible for helping us...THANK YOU...this has been a nightmare for us to get taken care of and we TRULY appreciate your help.

While I am not aware of the authenticity of the individual you are speaking with, if they offered that to you, I encourage you to accept it. As for me, I will leave your account alone and if this individual truly offered to waive the past due balance and cancel your account, then this person will update your account status. Thank you for keeping me posted.

Hello K. Nicholson,

We appreciate your feedback in regards to your experience with our service. Our intention is to provide world class customer service for all of our customers in any area of their experience. In this case, the cancellation letter we received did not meet all of the necessary criteria. This policy is in place for our customer’s protection so they are not cancelled without their consent. After further review of the situation and the discussion that took place yesterday, we have decided to waive the past due and cancelled your account effective immediately. We hope this clears up your concerns and we hope you will consider us in the future if your needs change.
